Your Most Beautiful Pen Is . . .

Ecriveur

Recommended Posts

So I was just sitting here writing something with my Visconti Van Gogh (self portrait model) and admiring, again, how gorgeous it is, then I saw penviper's post about his (her?) Grail pen, Visconti La Bibbia, and it inspired me to post this topic: what is your most beautiful pen? Beauty is the only criterion, not nib quality, durability, unusual materials, cost/benefit ratio, filling mechanism, or anything else.

As to my pens, my initial guess, without surveying my pen collection, is my Visconti Van Gogh (self portrait) but I might change my mind after a careful review of all my pens.

I am partial to the looks of my Triumph nib Sheaffer pens. I think that the streamlined, sleek simplicity makes them look quite nice.

I can't think of only one pen. I really like celluloid pens, but there are many that I find stunning. I must also say that some lacquer pens, such as a Danitrio Mikado midori-tame, are really wonderful. Their differences accentuate their beauty.

If you had asked me three weeks ago I would have said my Visconti Michelangelo Back to Black. Now, I must say I'm really starting to favor my new Delta Dolcevita Soiree. Seller's picture doesn't do it justice:

No two Visconti Van Goghs are identical but here are a few examples of the Self-portrait model:

Thank you! Yours is actually the one I knew from experience. I lust after this one myself. (Funny, because I want it partially because I really like Van Gogh's work, but I'm not fond of that picture, and I don't like the Starry Night pen much.)

These are mine. An Esterbrook SJ, a Sheaffer Lady Balance, and a Visconti Rembrant.

(PS Can anyone tell me how to rotate pictures? I can't seem to get them right. Thanks!)

I change my mind quite regularly, for a start on this topic I would nominate my two Swan Leverless pens in the brown amber material.
