Never thought I'd like a bullet so much. I haven't decided whether to clean off the small amount of "gold" plate that's left or leave it as is. It's so ugly it's pretty.

As always, my inked pens are in my signature...

Took a Parker 45 with medium nib and Diamine Indigo to a meeting today. Wrote on some overpriced Japanese paper which was an underwhelming experience. .

Meeting went well. We had a sidebar on pens with thermometers (doctors/nurses pens) and wondered whether patients complained of getting ink in their mouths.... :lticaptd:I was more worried about how they disinfected them. Interesting that doctors' pens are scarcer than nurses' pens; I wonder why...(I can speculate of course).

...be like the ocean...

It's a purple ink day. I don't know why, but I just felt like doing everything in purple today.

To work on my Spencerian I am using my hand turned oblique Zanarian style holder with a Brause 361 nib and my own mix of purple ink that I call "grape ape". I'm writing on some Strathmore "parchment" paper.

For italic work I have a Jinhao X750 in matte black with a Knox 1.1 nib and some Levenger Amethyst. I'm using some heavier weight copy paper to practice on, which is usually an issue with the Levenger ink, but everything seems to be playing nicely today.

Impressive!

How does one hand-make a piston filler. More info, please.

Hi penwash.

This pen is kind of a prototype John was dear enough to offer to me (I just payed the rod I have chosen, and the #6 nib). He is still working on the definitive piston system. This one works fine, but there are some little finishing to be made. He is working on a differential type piston.

I could not explain to you how he did it, sorry. I am a tester. I can tell you this one was made with alluminium and ebonite.

Other than that, the pen works perfectly well, and no leaks during transportation or other, as the piston.

Thank you for the info!

Does John have a website or some ways that people can contact him?

I'd like to see more pens he made.

Kaweco Liliput. Turned out to be a great writer after a scrupulous nib adjustment executed by my genius friend. Smart nib with some light variation, generous ink flow.

Practice, patience, perseverance
