Fountain Pen Revolution Guru Demonstrator w/ Flex Nib

TWSBI White/rose gold Mini w/ Bold nib

The TWSBI has been a huge pain in my butt all afternoon. Is it suppose to be so skippy? Did I just get a dud nib?

No pen is supposed to be skippy. Give it a rinse with water and a little dishwashing detergent, followed by clean water if you've not done so already. TWSBI feeds tend to arrive with a bit of manufacturing gunk on them IME.

If you're still having probs try a different ink or paper. Other possible causes may be a tight gap between the tines or baby bottom. Best of luck!

Thanks! I flushed it out when I first got it, with a bit of soap, rinsed it well- and it was still problematic. I think it might be baby's bottom but for 70 dollars I'm annoyed I am having issues at all. Contacted TWSBI about it. They're asking me to send them the pen but again, paying for shipping is going to make me a cranky bunny. They have great CS though so I'm sure it'll be fine. It's a pen I want to love, I shall make it work!

Don't be a cranky bunny, at least not until one of us takes a look at it Thursday evening...

Just received back my recently purchased and refurbished 1942 Parker Duofold (DuoVac), so plan on filling tonight and put it in use tomorrow. I'll post a picture, but haven't quite figured out how to do that yet.

My first Kaweco AL Sport artived today. Gunmetal with M nib. I use it this evening with a J Herbin Eclat de Saphir cart. Very nice little pen.

For work today I used my Sailor Sapporo, EF, with Sailor Jentle Blue Black ink.

For my journal I use a clear TWSBI 580, F, with Iroshizuku Asa Gao ink.

Also had some fun with a black Kaweco Sport with 1.5 mm nib and a Kaweco Black cart.

Horrible bit of practice with a Pilot Parallel 2.4 mm -- yesterday it all worked beautifully, 1.5, 2.4 and even 3.8 mm. But this morning I just could not keep that edge properly aligned to the paper. Meh. Back to writing software.

journaling / tinkering with pens / sailing / photography / software development

Two pens I got at the Arakansas pen show:

Franklin-Christoph 19 with Masuyama medium italic nib filled with Yama Guri

Parker 51 fine (my first and just-wow) with Script Blue-Black

And a long-standing favorite:

Pilot VP with medium nib, italicized by the Pen Doctor, Steve Pustilnik, with Pilot Blue Black
