Pen Brands Worldwide, By Country

I just received a pen from Hungary and it is supposed to be Hungarian....

 

I have not found more information.

It seems the Favorit is not Hungarian. It is German.

 

Joseph C. Lamy, Parker Germany's general manager, resigned in 1929 when Parker discharged Osmia, and created his own company in Berlin. He began with the production of pens marked Orthos. He acquired Artus Fullaltergesellschaft Kaufmann und Co. After that buy his first pen was a piston filler marketed Artus. During subsequent years he produced the Artus Rekord, Perfect, Favorit, Ballit, Schulüller, Prinz, Junior. I found a web page that tells about the Favorit, but it's in Italian. The best I can get out of it is that the Favorit was produced by Artus in 1939.
During my searching I found the Favorit listed under 4 different names.

Thank you for the information, there is indeed some similarities from the Favorit I received and Orthos/Artus (from which I have some examples) but I did not find the data you found... I will see those pages and thank you again....

I found a nice little pen

wifff – Polygon (and yes, with three fff)

It has a Soennecken nib which is certainly not the original one

Marbled green Cap & Barrel are eleven sided

The Cap's head imprint is 02 and LY (I assume Lady)

I have been told is Austrian

Wow... that list represents a lot of work! So many names I've never heard of... I wish there was a way to filter out modern pens, leaving only vintage pens (vintage for me being 1900-1940-ish.) It'd be a tremendous resource for identifying some of the lesser, 'third-tier' pens often found in yard sales and auctions and, of course, on eBay and Etsy. Still, it's a valuable resource. Thanks for putting in all the time and effort to compile it!

I bought a second hand pen in France that has the brand "Wallor" engraved in the ring. It says "Wallor St Claude Wallor France".

It has a generic Iridium Point nib, I think a nr. 6, and uses standard cartridges. Although it is quite a big pen, a long cartridge will not fit. And there is much extra space when you use a short one... Maybe some intermediate length converter would go well.

The best is the material, a pretty plastic marbled in red, gray and black. The pen is elegant without being impersonal. But as for writing, it is just standard.

I have found the WALKER pens on the list as the Italian ones. I have bought these in the pictures. Could you tell me more about the pens in white, black, green and blue colors? The period of production?

I had the black one in my teens.

It is still nowadays very common in flea markets in Spain. I remember it as the worst fountain pen ever...

I think in the list for China you could add Delike, Moonman and PenBBS.

My very first FP was from a brand called Dator, in the late eighties.

Dator pens are frequent in the 2nd hand market in Spain:

I do not know if the brand is Spanish or not. I always thought it should be from an european country (Spain, France, Italy, Germany...) but I do not have evidence for that.

Another brand that was quite common in Spain in the late 80s & early 90s is Spirit of St Louis. You still find them quite easily in the second hand market nowadays.

I have one of those. They made nice finishes in brass, chrome, leather etc but the nibs were also standard Iridium Point. they came in pretty metal boxes and at the time were a little more expensive than the Parker Vector.

 

I do not know where they are from.

I have a pen from Japan whose brand is not in the list. The brand is Space Man, and I have seen at least another one for sale somewhere. The pen looks quite gorgeous in the photographs, but in the flesh it feels really cheap.

Spors - you have Lady Spors in the list, but the "Lady" was a model, somewhat smaller, in the Spors line. Spors glass-nibbed pens were imported from Japan by Spors of Minnesota

Fulgens and Stilnova - two brands made by Pagliero of Settimo Torinese. I believe that they may still be in business.
