Dip Pen Set Recommendations?

ac12: Where do you purchase pure alcohol? Would vodka do? Is this to clean the protective coating off the nibs?

 

I use plain rubbing alcohol that I get from the pharmacy.

I use the cheap stuff, less than $1 a bottle.

But READ the label. You want the alcohol that has water as the inert ingredient. Some of them use other "stuff" which might be good for rubbing/massage, but not good for ink.
