Bomomemo By Bomoart Budapest

Some days ago I could finally get myself to visit this beautiful shop in Budapest, Hungary.
I've been browsing their online store every week just to see their awesome products.

Their new website just launched this week! http://www.bomoart.com/

They offer paper, leather and half leather bound notebooks, diaries, sketchbooks among many other things like postcards, greeting cards, calendars, boxes, etc with vintage like designs. Various styles, inspired by the atmosphere of the 1910s, '20s, '30s and '40s, all with amazing detail!
Their designs are quite unique and original.
You can almost get everything with the same matching pattern. For example, there is their hot air balloon themed design. If you really like that, its available on almost every product they offer!
The spines of the leather products are beautiful! And the leathers feel really nice in hand. On top of that, you can choose the color of the leather you want.
If you order a half leather bound notebook/planner online, you can select the design you'd like, and the preferred leather color as well!

All in all, when I was browsing online, I was like "OMG!". When I went to the shop, "OMG! OMG! OMG!"
The B&M shop is really small, but its filled up completely with their products. Abundant supply.

So, what I've bought on my first little trip there, is a 3 pack of BomoMemo.
A/5 sized, paper covered, lined notebooks, with 96 pages each. (I gave one to my sister. It had beautiful flowers on it, but I thought it would be a wee bit feminine for a hairy guy...)
This is also available in A8 size, but with different cover designs in the pack.

Again. Amazing detail!!!
They are just pure joy to look at!
(The Christmas card is also from them)

And they don't only look good from the outside. The inside of the covers are also taken care of, and there is a red plastic-like dividing page both on the front and back. Its like those pages what are mostly found in photo albums, just thicker.

Luckily the paper itself is also nice!

It has a little texture, but nothing bad.
It takes ink quite well. It can bleed with wetter inks or nibs though, but most of the time there is just show though.
What also happens with wet inks is that the letters can get a little bit hairy. Most of the time you have to look really close to see it.

Stormy Grey is on the wet side.

The dots did bleed a little, but the tattoo like process doesn't make it easy for many papers. Most of those are also just show though.

No disappointment at all! It worthed every penny! (Forint...haha)

I hope I can get myself a full leather planner for 2015 form them.

Thank you for the report - I really love their work.

What a pity that I'm not living close enough to take a look by myself, it's just mail order...

Greetings,

Michael

I've ordered a couple of journals from them this year. I'm 100% happy with them. They were essentially made to order journals that perform well beyond their price. I recommend them highly.

I'm happy to hear that!

Today I went to the store again, and this little thing came home with me:

B7 size daily planner for next year. It was hard to decide from those many options.

The paper is actually quite awesome!

Very thin, but my very wet M1000 EF doesn't even feather! No bleed through either. I'm impressed!

I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship! :D

Thanks for the beautiful review! I'm glad this workshop is receiving some more attention as their products are definitely worth it. Also the Memo notebooks have my favorite motifs on the covers - lovely.

I ordered a few of their notebooks last year, also an address book and a daily diary which is so nice I'm going to use one of theirs in 2015 as well.

The only thing I've stopped using is their Kindle case which is amazingly beautiful - strangers have commented on it on the train! - but the paper is too tender to withstand being pulled out and stuffed back into my handbag several times a day. It would probably be great for people who mainly use their device at home. Or used an extra pouch for protection.

Maybe they're going to make a full leather case one day in which case I'd certainly be one of the first customers.

I'm happy that you like it!

You've made aware of them actually and I'm really thankful for that!

It took me a while to finally get to the shop, but there's no turning back!

BTW, your blog really deserves its name!
