The Pelikan M800 tortoise from 2012 has been my most expensive pen purchase to date, but well worth it.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

The Bic I used to sign the Marriage License application.

You win. Well, not really, but surely the best response.

Aurora Optima...and worth it.

A blue one is calling to me. If I purchase it, it will top the M800.

My most expensive one is still the third FP I`ve ever bought:

_Sailor Sapporo (from nibs.com), about 180 euros

(living in Europe it`s too expensive buying pens from the US - that`s why the Classifieds are not interesting for me)

For my 40th birthday, I bought a Nakaya writer's model for about $500. Worth every penny.

I plan to live forever. So far, so good.

Reading over the various posts, it occurred to me that the subject question could either be interpreted as "the most money spent on a pen" or "the most valuable pen you own" (regardless of what was actually paid).

So, while (as I said) my most *expensive* pen is the M400, the most *valuable* might be the Parker 51 Aero Demi in Plum, simply because it's not as easy to find a replacement -- especially for the price I got it for (not a sumgai, just a very good deal). Yes, it's a beater pen, with a fair amount of corrosion on the sac sleeve. No, you may NOT borrow it.... :P

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Rational position, Ruth. Along those lines my most valuable pen would be the 1948 51 vac demonstrator my Dad gave me for my 57th b'day. Once restored it will be not only quite a bit more rare than my mid 80s 149, it is likely to be more valuable. And to think Dad only paid $7.50 for it at an estate sale.

Grace and Peace are already yours because God is the Creator of all of life and Jesus Christ the Redeemer of each and every life.
