What's The Most Expensive Fountain Pen You Ever Bought?

Probably my Montblanc Noblesse. It's a discontinued model that I got used, but factoring in a nib grinder's fee to get it working the way I wanted, it was a little under $200 total.

Most expensive new pen, probably a Pilot Vanishing Point that came to $163 shipped with a little extra work done on it.

With help from Japanese eBay prices, I have yet to reach $200 for a single pen. A Pilot Custom Heritage 92 which would be $220 from US dealers was $133.80 shipped.

Not sure if it was the same one for me or the G2 I signed my mortgage with....in 2005...right before the bust.

Visconti Carbon Dream. $1900 list, my wife paid $1500. I have a number of other pens in that price range though.

I don't pay list for anything so I got all of them for less.

The Pelikan M605 Marine Blue during the sale. Beautiful pen.

The other most expensive (a Montblanc 144?, Waterman [something—too long ago] and an M600) were given as gifts.

A Pelikan which was a gift for a friend - was about £120. I do own a Montblanc 90th anniversary Classique but that was a gift from another friend :)

UK-based pen fan. I love beautiful ink bottles, sealing wax, scented inks, and sending mail art. Also, thanks to a wonderful custom-ground nib by forum member Bardiir, I'm currently attempting calligraphy after years of not being able to do so due to having an odd pen-grip :D

I bought a Montblanc 90th Anniversary 146 for full retail price. It doesn't feel worth it to me.

On the other hand, I bought a Montblanc Alexander Dumas fountain pen at the Ohio Pen Show for roughly the same price, and it was a bargain.

I'm in the process of creating a purchase log for my collection -- something I should have been doing all along for insurance purposes. I think though that the most expensive were a Pelikan M800 and one or more of my modern Duofold Centennials. Not sure of the price (which is why I need the log!) but they'd have been in a range of $350 ~ $450 I believe.

Chronoswiss styloscope made by Pelikan, even though for its full retail price, I think it worth it, nonetheless to say I paid slightly above one half...(:
