I guess these colours (blues, violets) need to be in a broader nib or ar least show the nuances in the ink so that they won't look like a rollerball?

I would have liked to see a sample of writing with a middle-of-the-road width of nib.

How does the ink fare then?

I like the look of this blue. It is a good thing that I can get a sample tube to see if the ink looks the same with my pens and paper.

I have a Goulet sample of this, and when my just-cleaned pen dries out I intend to ink it up!
