Lamy 2000 (F) with KWZ IG Blue #3.  Professional and delightful.

Imporium 060-BlkAu 14 K, F, Diamine Smoke on the Water

I just realised, when I started journaling this evening, that I haven't used my Imporium for at least 6 weeks. It still writes immediately!

Today I'm using my new Lamy 2000 "M" nib with iroshizuku take-sumi ink. Love it! I also keep two makrolon 2Ks with me that have "OM" nibs, and inked with iroshizuku kon-peki and Faber-Castell India Red.

I use them with Rhodia steno pads, but I'm always looking for steno pads with a bit toothier paper.

Cheers,

Chris

I am using an extra fine Lime Green Al-Star, but here is a picture of all my happy Lamys.  (The 2000 is not included)

My Vista with black Lamy ink; the steel M nib is remarkably pleasant to write with, so I'm really enjoying using it.

Azure al-Star, with the original nib (an M, IIRC) swapped out for the new hanzi nib. Currently inked up with Akkerman Delfts Blauw.

Still trying to make up my mind about the hanzi nib.  I haven't really tried flexing it, and so I don't know how that will work.  Otherwise (i.e., for "normal" writing) it's effectively somewhere between an F and an M, and a little more feedback-y than I'm used to (although is reminding me of the amount of feedback I get with the nibs on a couple of my Sailor pens).

Lamy Ideos

  • Extra Fine Steel Nib, smooth writing
  • Noodler's Ink Heart of Darkness makes for a fine pairing
  • Unposted - poor design as the ready to wear down plastic pins to hold the cap make the pen way too long with slight backweighting.
  • Teardrop grip though smooth glossy metal makes for a more secure grip than Lamy Studio
  • Great spring clip and Palladium finish
  • Due to the teardrop shape of the barrel, the pen tilts rested and is harder to show the nib face.
  • I think I still prefer the Lamy Studio, however on balance

Lamy Safari in charcoal with green Lamy cartridges.

The pen could be as old as this forum section. We've come a long way.

Always looking for new ways to downsize my collection.

I am using my new Lamy 2000 Ballpoint I purchased to complement my two Lamy 2000’s fountain pens in fine and extra fine.  I use a ballpoint in my daily bike mileage log so it seemed a prudent purchase.

A 2k Makralon Oblique Double Broad with Troublemaker Milky Ocean.  I'm not finding the Oblique nib to be particularly friendly and have a regular BB inbound to replace it.

Lamy Safari All Black with Z57 14K EF nib and Lamy blue ink.

I bought the nib at the Lamy store in NYC on a recent trip and installed it immediately into the pen I was carrying at the time. The plan was to put it into another pen when I got back home, maybe the Studio All Black.

This pairing is so pleasing, though, that it will probably stay this way.
