What Lamy Are You Using Today?

The Accent also has a twist cap.

The Persona too.

+1

The Persona is the older brother of the Imporium and I prefer it's recessed clip.

Initially, the Persona came with a 18K nib IIRC.

Thought the earlier one had the 14k nib and the later one, with the roll stop, had the 18k nib ? - I'm looking to pick a black and gold one up to compliment my Imporium, but only for the right price.

On what am I using, now I've got my Imporium back from the pen club friend and fellow blogger I leant it to, my 2k is back in the drawer and the Imporium in my folder. I suspect I'm in the minority much preferring the Imporium over the 2k.

You might be right, it could be the cheaper (non-chiseled) barrel came with the 14K.

I too like the heft and prefer the 2K SS over the makrolon.

Since you ask: a Profil 81, with an extravagantly smooth and generous medium nib, Pelikan 4001 brilliant black.

Today's pen is my 2006 SE French Bue/Red Clip Safari inked up with Diamine Blue Velvet.

Not a 2000 fan myself, and I like my Imporium.

OTOH, are you not a fan of the L2K in general or just the makrolon version?

I am not a fan of the one Lamy2000 which I bought years ago, which happened to be a Macrolon version. So that is a sample of 1.

  • 3 weeks later...

I have three inked up at present...a lamy 2000 in medium (my workhorse), a lamy al-star in broad and a lamy safari that I put a bicolour gold OM nib just for the sake of it.

Love all of them but the 2000 is just sublime.

All with Noodler's registrar ink because of my job.

I have my Lamy Safari in Petrol, fine nib, with a Lamy Blue cartridge in it. Deciding whether I'll put Diamine Blue-Black or Noodler's Heart of Darkness in once I finish the cartridge. Or maybe get something else fun.

I've been thinking about Lamy Turquoise as a "blue enough to be accepted in law, but different enough to be different" ink choice but haven't decided yet.

Lamy 2000 steel version, broad nib. Bought from Bureau Direct in their clearance sale - sadly, just before their announcement that they were ceasing to trade.

I really like this pen, but it's a bit on the heavy side for me. I love the Makralon Lamy 2000 and that's my go-to, but at some point in the last 3 weeks it's disappeared. I'm really hoping it's just misplaced at home, but I have a horrible feeling I left it at the studio I rent and it's vanished from there.

Fingers crossed for me, folks!

Really hope you manage to find it! I would be devastated.
