First generation 2000 with EF nib Lamy Blue ink.

I bought this pen,second hand, in June 2013. The seller described it as a good condition user pen. When I got it and tried it out I found that, yes it was generally in good condition and wrote very smoothly, but the nib was very bent and wrote more like a B than EF. I think the seller had sent it to the local blacksmith rather than a nib meister (or maybe let his dog chew it).

I have ordered a new EF nib and will see how it performs then.

 

Just fitted new EF nib (14k as against the 18k original). What a difference

Hello everybody

I am using today my new Lamy 2000 with an EF nib and black Lamy ink. The hype was true. It is just amazing how well this pen writes, how comfortable it is in the hand, how nice to touch is the makrolon material and how clever is the design of the piston and the nib. I am a new convert to Lamy.

My only two Lamy instruments at the moment, a charcoal Safari (EF nib) and matching .5mm mechanical pencil. Eying a Lamy 2000 as my first "serious" fountain pen purchase, sometime afte the holidays.

How is that Dialog 1 to hold?

 

It looks stunning, so does the Dialog 2 rollerball.

 

But I am not a big user of RBs (dislike them) and BP.

 

I am still waiting for the Dialog 4 Mechanical Pencil... (if that will ever happen...)

This is my today's choice: Lamy ABC FP + pencil set. They are no longer made.

My Lamy Charcoal Safari Fine Nib (with Take Sumi) has become my workhorse pen. Absolutely love it.
