Hi, After using Safaris for several years, I've just bought an AL-star, I think the colour might be discontinued now, explaining why I got it at a slightly reduced price in a card/ pen/novelty type of shop.

Lamy Scala Glacier - got carried away a few weeks back when I found one going for a goodish price. Being my daily user at the moment.

Lamy is such a superior pen for the price.

Lamy Safari Broad nib inked with Pilot Iroshuzuki Tsuki-yo

Lamy Safari M nib running Noodler Aircorps Blue-Black (a great combination)

Lamy Safari 1.5 italic nib inked with Noodler Fox

Lamy Safari 1.1 italic nib running Noodler Bay State Blue (love this combination)

  • Vista F w/ Diamine Poppy Red (my Marking pen)
  • Safari M w/ J.Herbin Orange (accent)
  • Al-Star (Grey) 1.1 w/ J.Herbin Stormy Grey (serious pen)
  • Al-Star (Pacific Blue) F w/ Seitz-Keruznach Arctic Blue
  • Joy 1.9 w/ Lamy Blue cart (practice!)

Think I might have a problem! ;)

I need to do a proper post somewhere about this pen at some point but I'm using my custom holo Al-Star. It was originally blue but was chipped and became a good tester for an artistic urge.

Impressive artistic expression via Lamy!

I really need to. It has some Baystate Blue in it for now, but I need shimmer. What I really need is holographic shimmer ink but my experiments for that have not been successful so far.

I love that custom "holo" Al-Star Kyrina.

I'm using my Dark Lilac Safari with Dark Lilac ink. I haven't use this pen/ink for 2 months and am, once again, wowed by both.

Several months after buying it, today I have at last opened my Dark Lilac Safari (M), and started using one of the cartridges of Dark Lilac ink that came with it.

Can *anyone* explain why LAMY decided to make this ink *only* a Limited Edition?

I am not asking anyone to explain why they also decided to NOT sell it in bottled form in Europe; because *that* is beyond all sensible explanation. Eejits :-(

I didn't know Lamy did not offer Dark Lilac in bottled form in Europe. It's very strange, especially since Lamy is made in Europe. Is it naive to think wider distribution = more sales?
