My blue Al Star. Danny Fudge has my beloved Lamy 2000 for a little nib tuning/smoothing. I should have it back soon, but in the mean time, I'll be using my Al Star quite a bit. Right now its inked with Sailor Jentle Blue.

I used the Al-Star blue green and the Safari neon coral and dark lilac. The Safaris are filled with the matching inks. The Al-Star is filled with J Herbin Emerald of Chivor. Each is fitted with italic nibs, two with 1.5mm, one with 1.1mm.

Just got my lamy 2000 today, cleaned/flushed and filled with their own t52 blue-black, not gonna lie this is about as smooth as my montblanc 145/chopin. Definitely worth the price in my opinion.
I am now a lamy fan :D

I recently bought the same pen in a fine nib. I love the matte finish of that pen. Enjoy!

Welcome to the FPN as well as to Lamy pens. When I first started buying after a long layoff, I decided to get the Lamy Vista Demonstrator instead of the Al-Star silver green. I thought I could get the Al-Star later. That's when I learned about the yearly color releases for the Al-Star and Safari. I know now to get it when it comes out. (I was lucky to get a few through Amazon.co.uk and eBay after their release years.)

My silvergreen AL-Star for short notes and stuff. At least until I decided to swap the (F) nib with the A (for Anfäger - Beginner's) nib from my old, currently non-functional (cap fell off sometime during the last 10 years. It'll shop up again eventually, I know it's still in the room) Lamy abc and let me tell you, it is the smoothest thing. Like, buttery smooth. "Am I even touching the paper"-smooth.
It's also pretty much equivalent to an M nib regarding the width, which I prefer. Fine nibs make my handwriting look oddly snippy, somehow, compared to the softer look of M-nibbed writing.

So I've been busy writing a few pages of quick brown foxes, just for the heck of it.
