Inky T O D - Color Swatches - Green - Please Post Your Pictures And Tell Us Your Thoughts

Interesting --you're exactly right! Some colors come out fairly true, and other colors are nearly impossible for the scanner to get accurately. Fascinating how some color is too complex for the scanner to read...

And now a color (thanks to Kestrel!) that is very pretty in the green-blue range:

I gave away my bottle of gemstone green, but I shouldn't have. It is a great ink and it's fade resistant.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

An interestingly similar ink, but with much less sheen, is Diamine's Delamere Green. I like it a lot. I'm very strange about my secondary colors --I like blue-green but NOT yellow-green, and I like red-violet but NOT blue violet. Kooky, I know.

But DG is a very handsome color —something I could use more often than just for coloring in forest backgrounds... ;)

Must be my monitor, the Delemere green looks a lot like the Levenger Gemstone. I bought this one too and haven't tried it yet.

No, nor your monitor —on paper they look quite similar. I was going to take note of that, but left it out. Gemstone does, however, does seem to have a hint, just a soupçon mind you, of ... aqua? Hmmmm.

Hmmm. Not quite as emerald as I would have thought from the name. Maybe like a dowager's old emeralds handed down through the centuries...

Give the Monteverde pen a day or two, and see what happens. I hope you don't have the experience I had (converter kept coming loose from the nib unit, and the only time I could get any flow was immediately after a fill).

So far, so good, but either the pen is a dry writer or the ink is a dry ink. I don't know yet.

I love that green Amber.

Officially added to the list.

SteveSurf sent me a sample and insisted that I try it. It really is pretty and it shades nicely on a lot of papers.

I just found this thread. Green is my favorite color and I have a good number of greens that no one else has shown yet. I'll try to make scans very soon.

Current Daily Carry: Pilot Custom 743 with 14k Posting nib (Sailor Kiwa-Guro), Sailor 1911L Realo Champagne with 21k Extra Fine nib (Sailor Tokiwa-Matsu). Platinum Century 3776 Bourgogne (Diamine Syrah), Nakaya Portable Writer Midori with 14k Extra Extra Fine nib (Lamy Peridot), Pilot Vanishing Point Stealth Black with Extra Fine nib unit (Pilot Blue Black), a dozen Nockco DotDash index cards of various sizes and a Traveler's Notebook.

Okay - here are a couple of sheets of green inks. I hope that these images are not too big. I do my ink tests using a Morriset Dip Pen fine nib (getting the idea from Thomas Hall) and a Pilot Parallel 6mm nib done in one, two and three passes to better show shading and such. I use Maruman Mnemosyne Word Cards and (as shown here) Rhodia Dot Grid. I'm still relatively new to this, so I am more than interested in getting feedback on my methods. These pages were done in a quick and easy scan on a Xerox copier, so they are not as high a quality as I would like. At some future date when time is more plentiful, I may go back and rescan on a better flatbed scanner and do color-correction. Anyhow, here is the first one:fpn_1453302505__greens1.jpg
