I think the combo is beautiful.

Thanks! I added just 3 drops of cyan (Diamine Beau Blue), and the color deepened a bit. Now I'm happier with it. Perhaps one of my infamous ink swatches will appear soon... :D

Best add the image. :)

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Right you are. A few more drops of blue, to get to the deeper color I was trying for. Now it's a kind of intermediate color in between Diamine Burnt Sienna and Deep Dark orange. Like it in the Edison Collier with the broad nib --taking notes with it and this color at a meeting yesterday caused quite a stir!

I think it was the beautiful pens and the doodles that caused the stir, but the inks is very nice too.

A new ink arrived today: de Atramentis "Lachs" (= Lox = Salmon). I was hoping for a richer color, but this is fairly close to a slice of yummy salmon:

Looks like it has some feathering problems, so I'll need to test it out on different types of paper to check. Stay tuned... ;)

Well, on good paper it does so much better. I am now firmly convinced that there is no substitute for good paper; gotta have it.

Top is Canson Tracing paper, then below is Borden & Riley Paris Paper for Pens:

Ah, much better, now.

My pleasure! Use it to your heart's content.

And now that you mention the flat dry down, I wonder if there's an orange ink with brilliant sheen that could brighten this one up? Hmmmm....

Hmm... I thought Autumn Oak would be more saturated.

I would say it is decently saturated. The swab does make it seem otherwise though. Here is a writing sample

That's super cool. You were disappointed with Habanero, but Cayenne is the ink for you, I'm so glad you found it!

Isn't that the oddest thing? Suddenly you play with an ink and it speaks to you, and it's the one you've been looking for for a long time? Crazy, right? :)
