Inky T O D - Color Swatches - Violet - Purple - Please Post Your Pictures And Tell Us Your Thoughts

I know people love and hate the Pelikan Edelstein series of inks, but I have had mostly excellent experiences with the colors I've tried.

The 2015 ink is probably my favorite so far: Amethyst. I LOVE this ink.

Just exactly right in so many ways. The one thing I'll need to check on is 1) whether it fades in sunlight, and 2) if it stains celluloid pens. I'm getting the sense that it may be a stainer, but I'll need to investigate that a bit further.

LOVE ♥ LOVE ♥ LOVE ♥ LOVE!!!!

I must try this ink!!

You make this ink look so gorgeous!!!!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful color!!! :)

Nice demonstration of the ink. That's pretty close to the color I see on paper!

Thank you!! I see more pinkish-purple in person than on my screen. And I love that bright pinkish-purple so feel a bit sad at not being able to communicate that through my pictures. But it is such a lovely ink I have no hesitations recommending it to anyone who likes this sort of color!

Two colors that are rather similar:

BSiAR #2 vs Mont Blanc Lavender Purple

BSiAR #2 is more vibrant and juicy, with an undertone of pink and shades to black.

MB Lavender Purple is more understated and elegant. It writes brighter but as it dries it becomes more subdued.

I love both inks and find they both have a special place in my collection.

It is rather hard to see any difference in the scan, but in person there is a subtle yet specific difference in the vibrancy vs muted nature of the inks.

Correct me if I am wrong, isn't the regular J.H. Violette Pensee better behaved and more saturated than the scented version? I used to have it . . . it too has a scent of violets but it is subtle, not overpowering at all.

I don't know.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Comparing them side-by-side, the color is almost exactly the same. But given the pens I have them in, it's hard to say whether the Pensée version is better behaved. It doesn't look more saturated. And I agree, the scent is distinct, but subtle.

Anyone care to compare Diamine Bilberry and R&K Cassia? They seem like doppelgangers to me from the Goulet Swab Shop.

Halloween may have this. I don't think they look alike in person.

I do have Cassia, but not Bilberry, so we'll have to compare separately...

So I was wondering, does anyone have a sample of that Dark Orchid ink (I can't remember the brand name, some unknown German brand I think?) that I could have please?

I can send you a sample of anything I have, I have about 30 bottles now so I can send you the list and you can take your pick.

I like the orchid color and I know it is super similar to my Monteverde Purple, but I really want to try it ever since I saw Amber write on a co-razy review with it!

I want to put it in different pens and on different papers to really compare it with Monteverde Purple. (As if I need another purple ink, lol! You all should just tell me NO MORE!!! But y'all are enablers....we all are here!) ;)

Amber, I will be sending you some co-razy reviews soon! I have several done already, they just need to be stuffed in an envelope!

I just had to share this one because I love it so much!!!

Platinum Mix-Free Silky Purple with my (just arrived today!) Nemosine Singularity Magenta .6 stub and my trusted old Ahab in King Phillip Purple with a Goulet 1.5 stub on white Tomoe River.

I want to buy this ink. I shouldn't. I have so many inks in a similar range. But.I.Want.This.Ink.So.Badly.

Will send some Seitz-Kreuznach Orchideen Violett (Dark Orchid) shortly —paper will come first.

Yes, it is quite similar to Monteverde Purple —almost identical as you can see on the notecards, with Monteverde just ever so slightly more pink.

Thank you so very much!!! You are so incredibly generous!!!

I am going to send you a pm with a list of my inks and papers and you can take a pick of what you want some samples of ;)

I definitely do love this color range though! I think R&K Solferino is really close too. I ordered a bottle but it may not get here until the end of June. (I ordered it from Amazon not paying attention to the shipping time because it was free shipping with my order.... and it is shipping from Germany. Sigh. I hate to wait a long time for ink!)

I didn't make the sample this weekend, so Halloween may beat me. If I send you the bottle, will you make samples for the pinks?

BTW, I really like that Ahab.

YES!!!! I would love to make samples for the Pinks!! I don't think I will have enough vials though.

I love my purple Ahab. It is my favorite Ahab out of 6.

But now I love my magenta Singularity too. It is so simply sweet!
