Some more foxes doodles in-between writing stuff. I forgot to trace the eyes with my black inked pen so they look blind. : (

I have Pelikan Violet and MB Beatles inked up right now, do you want to exchange letters (we call this a CRV or Co-Razy View) and compare the purples?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I'm scanning my "standard" sample cards, so here is Monteverde Charoite. Compared to Monteverde Mulberry Noir, it is a shade lighter and lacking the black undertones. Hue is very, very close to R&K Cassia, but a touch darker. PR Tanzanite is bluer than all three, making it decidedly "blurple".

In this scan, the purples look really different, in person, they are nearly identical.

Two very different purples, both in terms of hue and dryness/wetness.

Both inks look great. (Why is one of the flowers not filled though?)

I like them both, though Violet needs a superb feed or it's too dry, but this is because it's a Pelikan 4001 ink.

I left it blank because I had a feeling that the color of the original, single line of Violet wasn't looking close enough to "the real deal" at the naked eye.

Imperial Purple is the bluer one, right? I prefer blue purples and violets to the warmer and redder purples.

I don't see the blue, it's just purple to me, only the 4001 is lighter, more of a brightly saturated lilac, while Imperial is straight up saturated purple.

Quick plant doodle with Pelikan 4001 Violet. I used a Yiren 570 with an extremely wet EF nib that I've come to love.

Paper is Clairefontaine 90g/m.

A quick comparison between my daily red and my daily violet.

J. Herbin 1670 Rouge Hematite is in an OEM Chinese piston filler with Lamy F nib.

Pelikan 4001 Violet is in a generous Yiren 570 EF. Beware that this nib is very wet, so the color comes out a bit more saturated/darker than usual. It's usually brighter.

With the last drops of Imperial Purple I had I compared it to Midnight to show just how dark a purple it is.

Diamine Imperial Purple was in a Jinhao 992 F.

Diamine Midnight is in an OEM piston filler with Lamy-copy F nib.

Paper is Clairefontaine 90g/m.

And I compared it to Asa Blue.... just for fun, no reason.

With this pattern I'd like to show how vibrant is Pelikan Violett in comparison to a bright red, such as Matador. Here it's used in a very wet EF nib, so it's more saturated than what I'm used to, and you can see that it's still a nice, vibrant color. I really like it.

Diamine Matador in Wing Sung 3003 EF.

In the Maroon thread, someone said that the new Poussiere de Lune is no longer dark burgundy but maroon.

My older bottle, is exactly like the samples written in 2014, but it is getting low and I want to make sure the new one is not a maroon, but the true burgundy it once was.

Does anyone has a newer sample of Poussiere de Lune they would be willing to show?
