I found a strange font on Pinterest and did a crazy thing by using the totally-not-fine nib of the Jinhao 992.

Ink is Diamine Imperial Purple. Paper is Rhodia pad 80g/m blank.

For those who enjoy unusual, murky inks, Krishna's PENCIL may be of interest.

It has more violet than Callifolio Bourgogne, but is less vibrant than Monteverde Rose Noir. Of the three, Rose Noir is my preferred ink for today.

Thanks for sharing these with us.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Monteverde Charoite. A deep blue-purple that's not as dark as Mulberry Noir, but still a very nice blurple.

I'd like to do a bake-off of this versus R&K Cassia (very similar hue), Mulberry Noir, and PR Tanzanite to see if I can find a nice replacement for the latter.

You're right. When I did my sample card for the generous sample of Charoite [THANK YOU!], it went close to Cassia in my Col-o-ring. Looking forward to your comparisons...

Cassia looks so dark, I didn't know it was so dark, wow. Is it darker or lighter than Sailor Shigure?

It looks extra dark on the card due to the wetness of the ink —the swab lays the ink very heavily, so it dries very dark. But in a pen, it's not nearly as dark as Shigure. And it's much brighter.

Didn't have Internet this morning, so in between editing my research proposal, I doodled these silly things.

Ink is Pelikan 4001 Violett.

Pen is Wing Sung 698 with a Pilot Kakuno F nib.

Paper is Rhodia pad #18 blank.

Where should I post multi-color stuff?

Anyway, this is what happens when I re-write my research proposal for hours. Sometimes my brain just gives up and I find myself reaching for my pens, my pencils or even my old high school compass so I can put some random ink on paper. It's very soothing. (I want to be a PhD student already...)

I'm scanning my "standard" sample cards, so here is Monteverde Charoite. Compared to Monteverde Mulberry Noir, it is a shade lighter and lacking the black undertones. Hue is very, very close to R&K Cassia, but a touch darker. PR Tanzanite is bluer than all three, making it decidedly "blurple".

That looks great. Reminds me of Lamy Dark Lilac or Bungbox L'Amant.

And the Birmingham inks tend to be quite wet, this one included.

I knew about Amber's ink collection and contributions to inky knowledge. Now I also owe thanks to Jan2016 and ErrantSmudge. Thanks for sharing so much!

"Chapter 8: The Upside Down" is the title of the eight and last episode of the first season of Stranger Things. Very good show, Wynona Rider is amazing and the kids are not bad at all.

Pen is Jinhao 992 <F>.

Ink is Diamine Imperial Purple. Love the color and the sheen. So grateful to MsRedPen, who sent me the cartridge.

Paper is Rhodia pad #18 80g/m.

Another typography exercise with Diamine Imperial Purple, plus some random doodles.

I love this color, thanks again to the best of penpals, MsRedPen!

The strange silver-gold hue you see in the images is the sheen.

Pen used is Jinhao 992.

Paper used is Rhodia Pad #18 blank 80g/m.
