Hex code is the RGB code (in contrast to decimal code) that identifies a color. For example:

The Tekker Ink guys have come up with a way to make ink to match the 6-digit RGB code you send them. That's the idea, anyway...

I assume webgecos want to know the hex code for the ink in your picture....

Oh, goodness. What a great difference there is between the word "a" and "the." I saw her question as "What is a hex code?" I must learn to read more carefully... ;)

THE hex code for that color is #d06806, and I wrote a page of a letter with it this morning. On Tomoe River there is a definite subtle silver sheen to it. I am now even more impressed by the Tekker ink!

Nice to hear about the sheen! My son and daughter-in-law got their Tekker inks yesterday (I had ordered their official school colors), so I expect mine will be delivered to my office Monday. One is them is an attempt at PPS, and the other is my birthday ink, a dark blue. If these inks behave well and have great properties, these guys are going to be awfully busy.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Eli, looks great.

J - I am totally excited to see them.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

LizB, I love your handwriting! You make every ink colour look beautiful, I wouldn't have looked twice at this one previously.

Waterman Absolute Brown. A warm brown, quite pinky tones.

So elegant! Wonderful presentation of the colour.

Practice, patience, perseverance

Odd. When I think of "cocoa" I think of a color much deeper and darker than that. The Levenger ink looks more to me like something they'd call "cinnamon" —what do you think?

I wonder if the cartridge is off? I agree that is a cinnamon color.

Oh, my! This thread is way more fun than the one on blues. My current brown is the beautiful Lie de The, but many of the others here are just as lovely - Copper Burst and Kiowa Pecan, for example - and that de A Auburn is very interesting.

I only have 4 inks at the moment : a really old bottle of Montblanc Bordeaux, J. Herbin Lie de The & Vert Empire, Levenger Claret

I have these on order, hopefully they'll be here in the next few days: KZWI Grapefruit, J. Herbin Cacao de Brazil, Diamine Oxblood, Teal, Evergreen & Twilight

Did you mean, though, scans of them?

You are off to a great start with quality inks. As you ink up your pens, we would love to see the inks in action.

Fortune perhaps smiles upon us. I bought a scanner several years ago on sale but I never opened it. New enough for Vista (and has updated drivers for 7). I unpacked it and tried it out this morn and it seems to work ok, the one sample scan I made looked fairly accurate so I'm printing out reviews forms, will give it a go. Inks arrived today, just waiting on Twilight and Cacao now.

Diamine Saddle Brown. My newest acquisition and first brown that wasn't a sample.
