Inky T O D - Color Swatches - Red - Please Post Your Pictures And Tell Us Your Thoughts

How does it behave? I love many of the colours but I just can't stop most of my De A inks feathering like crazy.

I've only ever had that problem with one or two of the de Atramentis inks (Lilac, for example), and then usually only on inexpensive paper. I tend to use Rhodia and Tomoe River, so the Cola is just fine on those.

Thank you. I use Tomoegawa almost exclusively and most are just about OK on that, but on all other papers they're a bit of a pain.

I haven't seen anything on FPN about TEKKER INK, but I happened to see something about it on Facebook. So I went to the website, and since the prices were reasonable, I ordered three bottles.

The great idea, is that you can custom order the ink you want by hex color number! One of the ink I ordered is the official IUPUI crimson (#7d110c) for the official color of the university where I teach. Of the three colors, this is the only one that doesn't seem to match the hex number. It dries down to a brown, similar to Private Reserve Black Cherry.

Here is the official brand color:

And here is the color of the ink:

I may try to tweak it. Stay tuned...

It does seem to be a little off.

WOW, WOW, WOW! I am deeply, and sincerely devoted to the reds, and, like you, this is one of my favorites. I tend to idolize the orangey-reds, but the occasional rich violet-red really grabs my attention! Thanks for sharing that beautiful page!

Ugh. This ink both smells and tastes horrible. It's prone to feather on usually friendly papers, but somehow resists bleeding and feathering on 20g copy paper (but takes forever to dry).

As this is a red ink thread, out of boredom (and morbid fascination) I decided to compare Antietam, an ink probably intended to evoke blood, to swabs of my own blood. Note to self: Never attempt fill your pen with blood again. That stuff is nasty to clean out.

I like my blood more - it's much more feather resistant, and shades better. All I could ask for is sheen... and a way to make it actually flow! :lticaptd:
Perhaps I should ask Tekker for a gallon of that stuff?

Here's some "Vineyard Burgundy" I picked up the other day at Paradise Pen (half price since they're closing the local store). Paper is Field Notes, iPhone pic.

My Inky came out somewhere between Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Pac Man.

BTW, Berning Red is much brighter and it does feather on crummy paper, BUT it's water resistant and becomes more so the longer it dries.

These reds are all stunning, but I sure would hate to have to clean all these pens.

I love LuMa, she has been doing 90% of the pen cleaning for the 366 inks in 2016.
