Caran D'ache Chromatics Five Favorites

Hi folks, I'm really enjoying these ~ here's a quick scan of some swabs, on Tomoe River Paper, corrected for white balance. I definitely recommend sampling some!

 

 

So far my favorite is Delicate Green

Ultra Violet is my favourite - I did a review somewhere here. They are all nice inks

I wanted to buy Ultra Violet in one of the local stationery store, but they have limited offer from the Chromatics line and Ultra Violet wasn't in the line, but will get it later from somewhere else.... Even much more cheaper price thanks for the internet... currently using two from the previous series, and wow, what a wonderful flow..

The only one I've tried is the Infra-Red. I like it very much --it's a super bright orange-red that really stands out. But at least on Amazon, the price is a bit excessive. There are a lot of inks for less money that perform as well. Just my humble opinion...

Nice review Cybaea; yes I think the shading is good to great as well!

I've been thinking of Idyllic Blue as it's on offer at the moment at CASS ART but erm I think you've muddled up your Idyllic Blue and Magnetic Blue.

I'm a MASSIVE fan of Magnetic Blue and wouldn't hesitate to buy another bottle when I eventually run dry and that Tomoe River paper really makes it sing . . .

I can't speak to the behavior of these inks as I've never used them. But concerning the color, I like every single color of the Nature series better than their Chromatics replacements with the exception of the blue/black and the purple, which I can not distinguish between in these online comparisons.

 

Very disappointing because I was hoping to one day give Caran d'Ache a try.

I only have one of the inks, Infra Red. It's very nice, but I'm not sure if I would say that it's worth the price.

I need to do a review of Divine Pink when I can finally get some free time. That is a severely under rated ink; I would argue it's one of the most interesting dark pinks out there.
