Funny, I fitted a Franklin Christoph music nib in my Noodler's Ahab and that thing is FUN to write with. Just saying.

+1, Did the same!

The Franklin Christoph one looks interesting, for sure, but I'd rather have the finer, round tip that flexes out, a la Neponset. :D Otherwise, I'd just feel as if I were using a dip nib.

TeaHive, I understand what you're saying there. The Franklin Christoph nib is a music nib that is akin to a stub nib. But holy cow, it lays down some amazing ink.

Mr. Tardiff posted this on a youtube response to question re Neponset stock

I thought it was a large quantity - my hands showed it. ;-( We will be issuing some acrylics within hours to retailers, some more "rebellion" a few days later, then some more black ebonite and more acrylics. It takes a bit more work and I am now doubtful that this pen will ever be abundant....but we will give it our best shot.

Gonna keep refreshing those retailer pages....

@wetnoodle, where does one buy a fc nib, how much are they, and does one have to buy a better feed to match the music nib?

i have not yet done the mod so i cant answer the other parts of the question but the nib feed and collar are for sale at the link above. my best guess is that you will need to deepen the feed on the noodlers one if you want to use the Christoph nib on it.

Anyone know if the Neponset nib and feed are similar in size to the ones on Konrads and Ahabs (i.e., #6 nibs)? I looked at the Neponsets at Ohio Pen Show and they are just too big and heavy for me. But being able to get a music nib for a Konrad (especially for an ebonite one if they ever come back in stock in more colors) -- that would be sweeeeet....

Balson, flow seems fine with my Ahab and a FC music nib. No mods.

I believe the Neponset music nib is considered a size 8, so quite a bit larger than the regular ol' #6 Noodler's flex nibs.

According to a question answered on Goulet, the Neponset music nib is considered a size 6 after all. Hmm.. I swore I read the music nib was an 8. Maybe for the prototypes? Ah well, all the better.

Also, the acrylic Neponsets should be out next week!

Yesss....there are some previews out there. Which do you like best, TeaHive? I think I like the Bengal Tiger and Forbidden City.

Yeah, the music nib is a size 6. I put a Goulet 1.5 stub on one of my Neponsets and it's dreamy.

Ooh, does that mean I could (possibly) get one of the music nibs and feeds and put it on a Konrad? Sweet....

Looks as if I'm sending email off to Noodler's to see if there's a snowball's chance in You Know Where to see if I can special order a music nib (and presumably a feed, although I have an extra feed lying around from when I got my first Konrad -- borked the nib and was able to get a new nib and feed; it turned out the new nib worked better with the original feed but I kept the extra one for emergencies. Because I'd love to play with a music nib -- just NOT on a Neponset....

Boo, my reply to which was my favorite aparently didn't post. But it's the John Mung or Bengal Tiger for me! Still deciding over here, lol. Other than a Nakaya, this is THE pen for me. I'm reeeaaally hoping I score one. If not, I'll desperately be tracking one down on the 'bay and Marketplace for time foreseeable.

TeaHive, sign up for email notification for the Neponset so when it's in-stock, they'll (most on-line pen stores) notify you immediately. I also like the B-Tiger. Is the John Mung more pink or red? I can't quite tell on-line.
