This is another interesting design pen, from same scrap lot. I like the section design very much. Fibre plastic body and fitted with Diploma nib. Cap has a stamping Bigson, clip design is fancy.

One more all plastic pen from the scrap lot- Chelpark [ do not know model number]. The stiff steel nib is excellent smooth writer. Pen comes fitted with an original screw type converter, whose nipple diameter is way larger than regular!

An all Plastic Platignum pen from the same scrap lot, nib is marked made in England. Surprised that such a nice looking pen was left in the scrap covered with dirt for so long. Cartridge filler type, but I added one converter from stock. Nib needed some smoothing, now writing good.

One more fibre body pen from the same scrap lot, no idea of brand / model as there is no marking. The Lamy / Pelicano type stiff steel nib writes too good. This was a cartridge fiiler, I fitted one converter from stock. Very smart looking pen.

From the scrap pen lot of Calcutta Pen Hospital I was able to revive a 1973 Plato 66 and later chose to slightly modify the pen. I fixed a aerometric filler and to cover up for the extended length of 1.5 mm cut off the barrel end and added a small cap. Comments please.

Once you're done them all, I'd love to have the complete story - with before and after pics, for example - in one big document, for reference and eye-candy - and serious pen envy!

Enjoy, and some time later, let us know how you fare with all of them.

These are two more pens from the scrap lot- brand name Matinex. Body is aluminum tube with worn out patina , even there are oxidation damage to the body at places. These are Eye dropper pens. The section and nibs are new condition but the body does not look presentable.

I was toying with improvement ideas, finally settled for wood cladding. The body and cap has come out reasonably good , working at the wooden finials- will post when complete. Though strictly speaking , technically it is a kit pen. But this rather un-conventional idea is perhaps not liked by pen makers! So , I would post the results only in this thread-kindly allow me a bit of time.

I also have a few similar ones planned. Will show in due course.!

@sanyalsoumitra

Sir, this is a great endeavor you have undertaken. Very inspiring. I am a newcomer in the fountain pen world and was looking for shops and people dedicated to fountain pen in Kolkata. Could you please share the address of Calcutta Pen Hospital and contact number of Mr. Riyaz Ali.

Thank you.

Dear Soumitra Da,

Thanks for all this information. Great work. Must appreciate your perseverance.

I am sure that you have reminded many a people about their childhood. And the pens that they had had back then.

And beautiful handwriting.

Thanks again

Flair -slim pen, Cross look alike. Do not know the model number. I remember having seen this pen in my school days. My father had both the matte black and the all chrome models.

You are very lucky to have a pen repairer close to hand. I keep reading that the fountain pen is not as popular now as it was in India but you still seem really well served.
