Looking For Pens In New Bern, Nc

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

So I'll be going to New Bern for Christmas this year, and I wanted to know if there's anywhere there/in the vicinity that sells pens. This could be shops, stationery stores, antique malls or flea markets, really any place I could find a pen. I'm not looking for anything specific. Any place that has inks or paper is good too.

Best wishes,

K

Not much there, I'm afraid. I have found a few vintage pens at the Antique Mall just west of town on Rt. 17 towards Jacksonville. Have not found any sources for ink and paper. I get most of that via Goulet Pens online (I live 30 miles out of NB toward the coast).

Having said that, though, New Bern is a lovely little place. There are some good restaurants there, and the downtown area is alive and well. Have fun.

Make sure you stop by The Chelsea and have a bite. They make some really good food there and is in the building where Pepsi was born.

Depends on what you mean by "vicinity." Franklin-Christoph is not far away - in the Raleigh area - about two hours from New Bern. You can go by, look at their line, make purchases, etc., however, you must make an appointment. In case you're not familiar with them, Franklin-Christoph makes some of the best (I'd say THE best) pens in America, and their customer service is second to none. I know this both from comments on the forum and personal experience. Check out their website - http://www.franklin-christoph.com/ Also, search the forums for Franklin-Christoph. I think you'll find that they have a strong following.

I pulled this off the website, if you'd like to visit. Please call or email Jim@Franklin-Christoph.com to set an appointment.

Franklin-Christoph, Italix, and Pilot pens are the best!
Iroshizuku, Diamine, and Waterman inks are my favorites!

Apica, Rhodia, and Clairefontaine make great paper!
