Different swabs and swatches online show that Maisgelb has always been a golden-brownish colour, and Krokusgelb a bright yellow one. My guess is that Standardgraph mixed up the two and bottled them wrong, but wouldn't correct the error, so they just continue to sell these wrongly bottled inks, hence all this confusion.

I don't think we even need to guess at it too much. Corn silk has a certain kind of colour that can get to look like that brown gold, while a yellow crokus is bright like that highlighter colour. Also, Standardgraph has a practice of making the printed ink splash on the label supposedly look like the colour the ink in the bottle is supposed to be.

So they pretty much admitted in their email that they've been filling the wrong colour into the Crokus Yellow bottles for years now, and they are simply too arse lazy to fix it. I mean I love the colour, but I'm just done with Standardgraph now. You can't rely on their advertisements to get the colour you want, you have to play roulette every time.
