Water Resistant Blue Ink?

Kung Te Cheng is waterproof, ammonia-proof, bleach-proof, alcohol-proof, and may be the most durable ink around. It is a dark indigo-blue that can appear purplish. It wont even wash off plastic. The only thing that will outlast it is a stone tablet and chisel.

Don't forget it is fade proof and dirt proof.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

According to the Noodler's ink properties spreadsheed PDF on Goulet Pens, Upper Ganges Blue is bulletproof.

It's quite nice. Not KTC bullet proof, but not bad.

I think it was InkstainedRuth who suggested that it would outlast the cockroaches after Armageddon.

UGB is a nice bulletproof ink (resists light and water well) but it can be a bit light in finer nibs and some people don't love the "chalky" color. I liked it enough to buy a whole bottle but it does not get used as much as I originally planned...

I've added UGB to blues with more pop to add water resistance to those blues that don't have it, such as Private Reserve American Blue and DC Supershow.

Check these tests/scans I've posted. They show some of what you are asking about.

My favorite water-resistant blues are: Upper Ganges Blue, Kung Te Cheng, DeAtramentis Document Blue, Pilot Blue, and Bad Belted Kingfisher. Bay State Blue is a bold blue and resistant, but does smear. Liberty's Elysium is semi-resistant. Great color, but when wet, it loses that bright blue component and leaves behind a permanent component.

DeAtramentis Document Blue and Kung Te Cheng do not smear at all. Others smear a bit, though they are permanent.

Favorite pen/ink pairings: Edison Brockton w/EF 14K gold nib and Noodler's 54th Massachusetts; Visconti Pinanfarina w/EF chromium conical nib and Noodler's El Lawrence; Sheaffer Legacy w/18k extra fine inlaid nib and Noodler's Black; Sheaffer PFM III fine w/14k inlaid nib and Noodler's Black; Lamy 2000 EF with Noodler's 54th Massachusetts; Franklin Christoph 65 Stablis w/steel Masuyama fine cursive italic and DeAtramentis Document Blue; Pilot Decimo w/18k fine nib and Pilot Blue Black; Franklin Christoph 45 w/steel Masuyama fine cursive italic and Noodler's Zhivago; Edison Brockton EF and Noodler's El Lawrence; TWSBI ECO EF with Noodler's Bad Green Gator.

Pilot Blue Black is one good one. Subtle like the Pilots are, but a nice colour overall.

Here's a pic.

You can see at the water test section, there was hardly any smudging.

And I want before I die
My soul's verses to bestow.

All those moments will be lost in time.
Like tears in rain.

My choices are:

1-Sailor Sei-Boku
2-Noodlers Bad Blue Heron

They are actually called blue blacks but they look perfectly blue to me. If you need wetter ink choose Noodlers, but keep in mind Sailor's color is mesmerizing.

One boring blue, one boring black 1mm thickness at most....

Then there are Fountain Pens with gorgeous permanent inks..
