Pen here is Faber-Castell Loom M, ink is Diamine Blue-Black, and paper is Rhodia pad 80g/m blank.

A new ink that I like very much: Krishna CASUAL. And yes, I know, there are those who do not love blues that include green, but I really enjoy them. It's very close to Emerald of Chivor, but the sheen is less overwhelming:

I love Supergirl too and the ink as well.

I don't know why but the color of Havasu in the beginning was different from what I'm used to see on the page. The color of the last line is closest to what I write with everyday.

Pen is Wing Sung 618. Such a surprisingly wet writer for such a fine nib. If all hooded nibs are like this, I'm hooked!

Ink is Diamine Havasu Turquoise. Beautiful summer sky blue with hints of pink halos, but it's a picky child. Only like the best of papers, everything else, you can wave the back of the page goodbye.

Paper is a line of Pigna notebooks with anomalous 1cmx1cm squares. The paper is thicker than normal Pigna notebooks, so it reacts well to fountain pen ink. But either this line is discontinued or the supermarkets in my area don't carry it anymore. Such a pity.

Quote is from the beautiful poem "Harry Takes the Field" by bratfarrar. Many times when I'm feeling down I remember these words and gather the strength to power on.

Monteverde Ocean Noir.

 

I tried this ink out in person at the Yafa booth at this year's LA Pen Show, and immediately bought a bottle. It's a gorgeous deep blue with a tinge of black, but isn't a blue-black and isn't a blurple. It's also distinctly different from the other big Monteverde blues (Horizon Blue, Sapphire Blue).

Anyway, this is part of a poem/song. I say "poem" because I read it as one and when I discovered it was a song I refused to hear it, fearing that it would ruin the mental rythym I had going on in my mind. I'm irrational like that.

Correct! With complicated fonts I trace the outline in reverse writing and fill in with the nib proper.

I'm testing how to make the 'filling' look better because it in the case of fast-drying inks the nib doesn't pick up wet ink and pools it correctly, so it looks very rough and wacky in places and I don't like it.

Thank you for the display of this ink, I have never really paid attention to 4001 Royal blue but now I am quite drawn to it

Okay complete honest here: Pelikan Konigsblau is extremely well-behaved and can you pour liters of it on the worst paper and it will show minimal feathering and zero bleedthrough, but unless you're a student with zero income I wouldn't recommend it.

I used for faux calligraphy exercises to test new pens and so it won't catch dust on my shelf. That's it.

Maybe I'm this hard on it because I've been using it for school notes since I was 10 and I'm a touch sick of it now, but still... I find it unremarkable.

Thank you for sharing I never had a bottle of it. I have 'fancier' inks than 4001 and I am now tired of them and find comfort in the likes of Pilot Blue and 4001 and RK Konigsblau. It is quite weird actually

The more I use Birmingham Panther Blue, the more I like it. It's not a huge sheener, even on TR paper, but the color and flow are excellent. It's similar to Diamine Cornflower and Platinum Mix-Free Aurora Blue. My favorite so far of the Birmingham inks.
