Inky T O D - Color Swatches - Blue - Please Post Your Pictures And Tell Us Your Thoughts

I am grateful to my artistic upbringing. When I say to my father, I need a cerulean ink, my dad gives me a look and asks if I mean cyan or azure. I don't know that he actually knows the difference, but my mother (an oil painter) trained him well.

This explains so very much. NOW I get it; it's in the blood, yes?

One can only hope. I don't draw or paint, but I am quite crafty.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

BTW, my Hyacinth is not purple like this. I love that color.

A lovely colour this.

Yes it is!

And I love your play-dough recipe. It's slightly different from the one we use.

So the ink doesn't stain your hands? Is that the reason for the cream of tartar? We have been using unsweetened kool-ade because the food coloring won't stain the art students' hands, but if we could use ink, that would be amazing!!

Impressed you noticed the recipe! I have no idea why the cream of tartar is in there, just followed a found recipe...

The first batch failed a bit texture-wise, so I didn't use it long enough for staining. Diamine is generally washable so I would expect it to be ok, but I'm not sure. I'll let you know if I do another batch!

Sounds good. I want to try a batch —with ink this time. I think a nice peacock blue would be splendid!

Here's my recipe: my husband and I make giant batches for 30 children (he teaches art in an elementary school):

Nice! You might want to try a small sample first though! I'd hate to bear responsibility for

Food dye (which often uses the same dyes as some FP inks) might be safer for little hands.

I will definitely experiment on myself first!

*evil grin* that explains a lot. ;)

This is the difference a wet pen makes:
