As you all may know, we are in the middle of the great blue comparison. Blues are compared to the grail ink, Parker Penman Sapphire. I just did a mix of 1:1 Noodler's Navajo Turquoise and Noodler's La Couleur Royale. It's darn close.

That's the regular concentration, not one of my super saturated powders or concentrates. I think this ink is a winner.

I find that the two actually look quite similar in a dryish fine nib.

I think the worse curse is not being able to appreciate the difference between the two. :P However, I am still kicking myself for picking the Kobe Renoir Pink when I could have gotten Bungbox Sakura Saku instead.

No. The curse is when you are granted extra sensitivity to blues by the gods, and are therefore constantly chasing your tail looking for The Perfect Blue, which may exist, but perhaps not in this dimension...

 

I used to have a scanner that would only give me one shade of blue in the scan, no matter what type of blue was presented to it. "What? You want Blue, you've got Blue. What do you mean 'Shades of Blue'?"* it would say to me.

I am grateful to my artistic upbringing. When I say to my father, I need a cerulean ink, my dad gives me a look and asks if I mean cyan or azure. I don't know that he actually knows the difference, but my mother (an oil painter) trained him well.
