Inky T O D - Color Swatches - Blue - Please Post Your Pictures And Tell Us Your Thoughts

Aurora Blue is WET WET WET. I love it. I think it's wetter than either of the other inks.

When you ask the ink aficionados, the Waterman inks do differ after a name change. I didn't use either enough to be able to easily tell the difference.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Another super WET ink arrived today from Japan: Sailor Jentle SOUTEN. I may have a new go-to Blue (sorry Liberty's Elysium...)

Thanks to TRSS, we have... Chesterfield Capri! It's Capri-cious! (a small area of the sea is done in deA Myrrh, for contrast...)

Do you have it next to Souton?

Here's the comparison. VERY similar. But Souten has killer sheen that Capri is lacking. [The gray card is there to balance color from the scanner!]

Wasn't sure --so I looked for an Inky T O D for Turquoise and Teal inks, but I guess they go in the Blue category?

Thanks to a generous person of great reputation, I have more S & K Arktisch Blau (Arctic Blue) to play with ---

Are we ready for teal / turquoise?

Possibly. About half of the "blue" swatches are really cyan/turquoise (e.g., Daphne Blue, Havasu Turquoise, Pelikan Turquoise, Blu Mare, etc.) rather than real blue (Liberty's Elysium, Chesterfield Capri, Souten, Diamine Royal Blue, etc.). But perhaps I quibble about these distinctions. I have been known to quibble... ;)

Hey, half our oranges are also in the reds and and we have some serious cross over between red and pink.

In comparison, the newly acquired Diamine Marine. Less icy, and more pleasant, to my eye. But I like them both for different effects...

They are quite similar though, I didn't expect that. Great work.

And a new ink (for me) from Diamine. The swatch on the site looked more interesting. Oh well —one can never have enough medium blue....

I admit to thinking Diamine made it's swabs look much more saturated than the ink is in the pen.
