For Japanese paper I can't recommend Nanamipaper.com enough. I don't want to go into the specifics here, but you will be hard pressed to find better customer service anywhere ever. We're talking old school L.L. Bean here.

Goulet Pens will always be my first choice for online pen retailer.

I get most of my supplies from pens to ink/ink samples to paper from Brian and Lisa Anderson of Anderson Pens. Some asian pens from jetpens and isellpens. Ebay and Amazon, too, depending what I find. My other vintage pen sources are gopens and richardspens.

Looking for an Omas Arco Verde...the one that got away.

Mine is amazon because they have good prices and I usually have a gift card to use so that is a plus but yeah I love amazon for my supplies .

Since you're in Canada, go for Stylus Fine Pens, Wonderpens, and Stylo. My favourite American retailers are Anderson Pens (they've refunded excess shipping fees in the past! That's how you win me over) and Peyton Street Pens ($10 shipping on a $200+ order? yes please!).

I just checked out both Anderson Pens and Peyton Street Pens. Both their shipping to Canada is about $10! That's very reasonable. I guess I have a new place to start spending money on! :yikes:

Such a great surprise, right? Once, the Anderson Pens automatic shipping calculator estimated a certain amount for shipping fees, but they were able to pack my order safely for cheaper so I got a very sweet $30 partial refund. That's huge! I like Anderson Pens for their ink samples: unlike the Goulets (for example) (not bashing or anything), they do 3mL and have Montblanc and Sailor Inks. I also couldn't recommend PSP highly enough. I ordered two Ranga pens from there as well as a beautiful vintage Sheaffer and Teri threw in a free pen as well. She's got great selection and answers emails promptly.

(not affiliated with any of the above, of course. just a very happy customer!)

Depends what you are after - my first choice is Wonderpens - they have flat $7 shipping and free over $100 within Canada. Service is amazing too! I've never been able to bring myself to order from Stylo and let's leave it at that. From the US Pen Chalet is my fav - shipping is $10 , fast and the items are nicely packaged. Some of their sale prices are wow - it all started with a Pelikan 200 and now I've bought over 6 pens from them.

US: Goulets for ink or accessories, Nanami or Jetpens for paper, Richard Binder for pens or accessories, Ron Zorn also for pens or accessories

Hi everyone,

I am trying to buy some fountain pen ink and paper and I was wondering where you buy supplies for your Fps.

Does anyone know reliable sources that don't sell fake supplies?

Thanks

I simply buy where the price is cheapest. I don't have favourites.

Fake pens are not sold by retailers - it's mainly eBay sellers from Thailand and Indonesia that you should stay away from.

I've used FPH a few times before and they are mostly OK though I've had the odd issue, such as a pen that had been inked and tested being sold to me as new. They didn't quibble the return though.

Fahrneys has been very good, as has Penboutique. I've also used Pengallery in Malaysia several times with great success, but they are not as cheap as they were 10 years ago. In the UK I've used The Writing Desk and found them very helpful, and likewise the OnlinePenCompany, First Stop Stationers and Internet Ink - all good sellers.

Dodgy sellers? From the USA, Montgomery Pens wins first prize for incompetence (or dishonesty, depending on your point of view). In the UK I've had a bad experience from Penbox, who tried to refuse me a refund after I returned a pen by lying about non-existent damage.

Let's update this thread....

onlinepencompany just gave me a great deal on four bottles of ink shipped to my door from the UK to Maine (USA). How do you beat that?
