Or releasing all the air from the tires on the car you find in YOUR designated parking space. You know, the one with the "I (Heart) Bics" bumper sticker.

Or the car in the space marked "Reserved for Robert Rosenberg"?

4 hrs to go on the New-sties kickstarter....also still more than $8.000 to go, so don't hold your breath, folks.

Every time I post something like this I feel bad for a while, as it is not nice to gloat

Really, it would be awful if this endeavor were to ruin Mr. Rosenberg and his family (assuming that they are not all throughout people who'd somehow deserve all this).

'But then again', says another part of my brain in return, 'They put out a gawd-awful J that has no real right to exist on the grounds of serious mediocrity.'

So yeah, it's still not nice to gloat though.

You know, I wouldn't be so offended by it all if it weren't for the man's blatant rudeness toward others. Had he not been rude to others, stealing photos from websites, and evasive about product questions, I would have just shrugged it off with a simple thought of, "Eh, that's way too much to spend on a mere kit pen. My wallet is safe." And toodled on my merry way.

Because we all know it ain't an Esterbrook. You can paint a wall blue and call it red, but that doesn't make it true. And it doesn't take a lot of investigating to figure that out.

But you don't get to act like a 'hole and expect people won't call you out on it just because your "ode to the past" product is hiding behind an historic name.

Well, the fortunate thing is that since Mr. Rosenberg isn't a member of FPN, people can make "personal attacks" on him and his products all day and night and the mods won't say a thing about it. The thread can go on forever, even after this sorry-ass company goes belly up. We'll all have our good old Esterbrooks, with all our fun nibs, and we'll be writing up a storm with 'em.

Maybe we can store them in some of those cool boxes!

Lord knows I am trying to resist pokin' the Zombiebrook carcass with the jobbin' stick...

But it would be Absolutely a Hoot if the only thing anyone remembers about all this 5 years from now is the box.

Bruce in Ocala, Fl-No, I never saw one but I have one of the rare boxes...

You guys have to be kidding me, right?!?

That box is made of vintage cocobolo, found submerged in Lake Titicaca and salvaged, the presentation cover is laser-engraved precious lucite, and the satin lining is made from Hugh Hefner's smoking jacket.

Third-tier, myass.

Hugh Hefner's smoking jacket?

I would worry about the composition of the stains.

Cocobolo doesn't grow around Lake Titicaca.

You've been sold a bill of goods, my friend.

A. It was dry cleaned thoroughly. And nuked from orbit, for good measure.

B. Yes. It was even imported, submerged wood. Highly desired.

Geez.

5 points of contact...

They just busted a guy near here for "stealing" submerged Cypress logs from the waters of a State park. BIG logs. Lots of Big logs. Over $300,000 worth already cut into lumber...

Wow. I was just having fun, but I do realize this is all serious business. The classical musical world (and I'm sure other occupations) is having nightmares about instruments being confiscated and destroyed because they used materials 100-200 years ago to make instruments that are now regulated by law. Priceless violin bows, for instance, have been destroyed in customs offices because of a small piece of ivory from the 19th century.

Anyway, my box story was for yucks, but we're getting into serious matters. At least I put some vintage Esties in the photo!
