What polish do you use on the box to make it shine?

Has anyone compared the performance of these new Zombiebrook Esterboxes to the vintage ones?

My impression is that they are more expensive than the old ones without offering noticeable differences in functionality. The original Esterbox was a very functional piece of kit. It wasn't frilly, but it got the job done well. While these new ones might perform the same basic box functions, I feel like they go against the core ideas behind the original Esterbox. I haven't used a new Esterbox, but while they might be very nice, I don't feel like it was a true rebirth of the original at all.

Duh. No joke Sherlock.

You know you want one.

Well, if we're discussing the fine qualities of the Esterbox, where are the cat reviews? No one knows boxes like cats. "If I fits, I sits."

Bravo. Thank you for sharing your impression. I much prefer to restore older Esterboxes, as well, if I can find them cheap. Those days seem numbered given the current attention. Now everyone will want their own eight-nib Esterbox!

It may not be an eight-nib, but here is an old Esterbox in pretty nice condition, with the pen included!

EDIT: Though if you prefer to restore them yourself, here is another Esterbox in well-loved shape!

I see the new company is at least upholding the tradition of including a pen with the box then.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Depends - highly - on the company you keep.

The Zombiebrook is starting to remind me of a SenSen.

I don't even have to actually See one, just think about it, and I get a nasty taste in my mouth.

He might fund the rest of the project himself to make it appear successful. Then he would probably make a post saying something like "Thank you to our many contributors!".

Is it that being seen with either will give people to suspect you have a drinking problem? ;)
