Esterbrook Brand Being Revived This December?

Maybe Buy-Curious...

Are you planning to be a buyer? (in short, why you ragging on me?)

The Esterbrook restart seems to have garnered almost attention as the demise of Conway Stewart...280 posts here and almost as many on another board. Sheaffer was taken over by Cross, Parker is owned by a plastic ware company, Lamy has its own forum, and the W-E Pen company successfully restarted, and combined, have generated fewer posts that found here. There is news but is an Esterbrook restart really it?

In short, I'm not clear why all the interest from a group of people that seem to have no interest in purchasing such a pen. I think everyone knows the new Esterbrook has nothing to do with the original company and those that don't know, likely don't care. The crowd being targeted isn't the same crowd that wants to use a vintage pen. If someone does buy a new Esterbrook and they actually google the name and find the world of vintage pens and they are not peeved off they paid 400 for a modern stick of plastic that looks like a pen and they start buying old ones, what is the harm?

Not RAGGING - sheesh - can't you recognize good ole fashion - 'NABLING?

I always thought it is NIBBING but I had bacon as a pet...

I'm going to go with ENNOBLING.

Or DISROBING. That works, too.

Sheaffer was taken over by Cross,

Say whut?

<Engages the Googler/>

The entire purchase price for Sheaffer pens was 15 million dollars??!

I'm sick to my stomach.

I wonder if we'll actually see a product list on the site for Christmas? *rolls eyes*

Middle of December sure is taking a long time to get here for this new Estie rollout.

Soon the mods have to change the title of this thread to 'Esterbrook Brand Maybe being revived in 2015'

In all honesty, I would think it must be a serious setback to miss their launch in time for Christmas '14. I hope the consequences for the people involved aren't dire (even if the pens in question were a bit gaudy)

Please, nobody here do any disrobing, thank you.

This is the Esterbrook forum, to disrobe we would need to robe first.

TMI! Somethings are better kept to yourself.

And remind me to soak my pens in Purell when I get them back.

Speaking of enabling...Had we known it was going that cheap, we could have done a kickstarter and requested donations.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Unless of course they're serious eye-candy. ;)

Unlike these new "Esterbrooks" (using the term loosely -- and despite paraphrasing what Gertrude Stein said). Which are seriously NOT eye-candy....

Related to this, I actually wore long pants yesterday to a Pen Posse as was noted elsewhere on the internet.

I think that redeems me...

Or Birkenstocks with straps instead of just flip-flops. I wore Birks with wool socks all winter for many years.

Too much ConAir for you.

One of the programmers who reported to me at the City of Pensacola used to wear these sandals all the time with socks of various unsubdued colors and with colorful pants outfits. I was OK with this but my bosses hated it -- they were accountants and the Director of Finance, and they wanted to control the womens' attire like banks did at the time -- every woman wearing the same old. She was the best programmer I ever worked with, and that's what I told them.

In another life when I worked at Intersil one of our most talented lead wafer designers was named Henry. I think he was in his early 30's. He had hair in either a pony tail or braid to the top of his ass and was as skinny as a rail. His attache was a backpack. Henry usually wore shorts and slaps.

He was however, an anointed High Preist of circuit design.

I think Henry could have worn a speedo to work and it would have been ok.

Wow, I'm amazed that those sandals both fit you, and are in such good shape. Though I'm still a bit confused as to why she would give them to you.

FWIW, I visited Fred Krinke's Fountain Pen Shop earlier this week and heard that he had been approached to be a dealer, but have yet to see any product.

Looking for an Omas Arco Verde...the one that got away.

I am honestly loving my toe socks. Almost 30 years of my life were squandered because I had never known their glory.
