Waterman Gentleman 1976 through 1983 or so. Nice pen! Top of the line Waterman until the Man series came along.

Use the long cartridge, that could come loose and fall out in the barrel. You might also put an extra cartridge behind it to fill the empty space.

Never had a small cartridge ever come loose in any pen I have used. You could use a larger Waterman cartridge, but this one works just fine in my experience.

 

Beautiful pen Kalvados, Gentlemans are some of my favourite out there. Congratulations! Treat it well and it will give it all back to you
