The Desiderata Pen Company Is…Open!

The hand-cut ebonite feed is really impressive -- great ink delivery.

This is by far the most fun I've had with a modern pen in a very long time. I hope you can keep making these pens so that other folks can share in the joy.

Thank you! I'm glad it worked for you.

Oh my, your pens are beautiful. I've missed the Bubinga, fingers crossed that you make some more of these!

Congrats on having this wonderful idea and carrying it through to execution. I'm very much enjoying learning Spencerian with a Zebra G and wondering why-oh-why is it so hard to find something similar in a FP, without spending $$$.

Now we don't have to do that!

Best,

Elle

P.S. I still like pretty FPs, but the more options, the better!

Oh Bubinga. What a headache of a wood to work. I have better stuff coming soon. In time for Christmas shipping, I hope.

Did you see these?

Any chance of a heads-up on what's coming in? I may be in a position to just about afford one of these delicious offerings. At the moment there is nothing in stock that I like though - no koa, no zebrawood. Having some idea of what models are going to be available would help me to either keep saving or simply divert the existing funds elsewhere.

My bubinga pen has arrived safely in the UK! I had it sent to a "safe" address with my friend though as our London postmen tend to get light fingered around Chrstnas time ( :( ) so I won't get my hands in the pen until near the end of the week. Cannot wait to try it though!! :D

UK-based pen fan. I love beautiful ink bottles, sealing wax, scented inks, and sending mail art. Also, thanks to a wonderful custom-ground nib by forum member Bardiir, I'm currently attempting calligraphy after years of not being able to do so due to having an odd pen-grip :D

Merry Christmas!

A few pieces of news:
More Mercury are now in stock and available. If you see something you like, snag it now. From here on out, this line of pens will only be abridged.

I have a new line of pens coming out: Daedalus.
The Daedalus is slightly smaller in diameter than the Mercury. All the pens post, are impervious to inks and solvents, and if the price point of the Mercury line was holding you back, this might be your day.
$50

I would also like to remind you that preorders for the WoodGlass end on December 31 for shipment in January 2015. If you're on the fence about this pen, time is running short.

Finally, if you haven't heard, Zebra released a new flex nib that fits my pen with FOUR TIMES the lifespan of the original chrome Zebra G. It's a Titanium Nitride coated Zebra G. It feels just as good as the steel Zebra G, it's just as smooth, flexible and easy to clean, and I am carrying a limited supply.

In addition to the TiN coated Zebra G, you can also get 0.6mm stub italics, fine and broad Nemosine nibs as well.
Thank you very much for staying with me on this project. I look forward to serving you!

Hi Pierre. Quick question: other than the ability to post and the change from wood to delrin, are there any substantive changes between the Mercury and the Daedalus? I.e., changes to the sack, feed, or nibs? Length differences?

Actually, come to think of it, is it possible to post a Mercury?

Thanks in advance.

The Daedalus holds a little more ink as it has a deeper barrel and can accommodate a longer sac. Everything else, functionally is the same.

Mercury cannot post.

I just went to look at your site and I only see a blank screen. Is it that only good people can see your site? Am I doing something wrong? Are you restocking your store?

...or, does Firefox not like your store? Seems I can get you fine on Internet Explorer but not Firefox.

I think Squarespace was being slow to load everything. I can see the site on Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

Waited for 2 minutes, nothing on my Firefox (fast cable connection). No time-out messages, so the server is found, but it does not show things here...

Your other site (musician) shows without problems.

Do you happen to have installed a ad-blocker or similar extensions? After disabling it the sales site loaded for me on Chrome.

Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow

Yep. Temporarily disabeled it and got some items.

Apparently the whole website is built in a way that adblock+ will totally block it.

If I were Pierre I would have a good talk with his hosting or software company.
