What Is This Script?

Is there a name for the general kind of flex-pen script demonstrated in this image?

I'd like to see a full alphabet and other specific examples of this kind of script.

Sorry, while this script could be produced by a flex pen, it looks to my eye more as if it is produced by a broad-edged pen. Say, something similar to a Pilot Parallel, 3.8 mm wide. Very much a master penman's script, sort of an advertising script. The hairlines would be produced by using the corner of the pen.

As to where you may find more of this style of script, would suggest googling Herman Zapf. He loved styles like this.

Maybe some of our other penmen would care to comment or have a better idea of the script. I usually work mostly with italic scripts.

Enjoy,

Yours,
Randal

From a person's actions, we may infer attitudes, beliefs, --- and values. We do not know these characteristics outright. The human dichotomies of trust and distrust, honor and duplicity, love and hate --- all depend on internal states we cannot directly experience. Isn't this what adds zest to our life?

it's indeed made by a flex pen.

if you look on youtube or nibs.com for the Falcon Spencerian grind you'll find a video with this lettering. Leigh Reyes in her blog uses almost the same script.

It has no special name nor is it a formal script, it's just a personal cursive inspired by several letterforms from different writing styles

Greetings,

Michael

Yeah, that fellow in the video just made that up. It's just very practiced and consistent, that's why it looks like something.

This is a video you might like:
