I'm seriously in love with this pen

 

It's a David Oscarson Crystal Fountain Pen for sale here for $4,900 which is approx £3,000 in UK money. Lummy, I could buy a small car for that amount, but it costs nothing to dream .

Oh! Darling, Something tells me you're being a Mean Mr Mustard. It's important Because here I Want You to realise a "device" is only dething that grips and holds steady depiece that you work on with defile or deknife or some such tool to achieve the desired result.

 

I'd like us all to Come Together on this and once it has Sun King and become clear, then it will be The End of the matter.

 

I could not work in any more titles from one of your favourite albums (mine, too . . . being a youngster in the '60s) but perhaps another member can.

 

I am also bowled over by the range of Oscarson pens but it's very unlikely I shall ever be able to afford to buy one.

 

But I can dream.

I shock myself: I'm not a bling-pen fan, but I think that one is quite beautiful. That jacaranda (guilloche enamel?) is stunning. With the gold. Sigh.

 

Is the barrel clear/transparent? If so, what color ink?

Is that the pen itself, or pen + packaging etc.? That seems unusually high for just the pen. I'm fortunate enough to own two Oscarsons, both of which look larger than that one, and they weigh 88g and 93g, respectively. I've only inked the first one but I really enjoy writing with it.

 

OTOH I think I tend to prefer a heavier pen than many FPN folx, so your mileage may vary.

 

And re: the original post: agreed, that's a beautiful pen.

Not overwhelmed with lust for the thing myself -- it's a bit over the top. Okay, more than a bit.... The silver trim one is a little less ostentatious (although even at a quarter of the listed price, I don't think I'd buy one).

But then, I'm a simple girl who likes non-bling-y pens (which is why I suddenly find myself with two more Parker 51s (burgundy Aerometric and Cedar Blue 51 Vac) in addition to the 51s I already had....

I thought my friend devised that term. I used to sneek downstairs with my latest acquisition to show her with it hidden in the inside pocket of my suit. I would flash the cap before taking it out for her to examine. Happy days....

oh wow, that IS gorgeous. It's the first pen that costs more than three figures that I have actually liked, a lot and immediately! Usually I really have to work at finding something to like with the outrageously expensive pens. To me these things usually look like when whoever it is sat down to design the pen, they thought, 'how can we pile on the precious materials so if the customer needs to go on the lam suddenly, they can snap a diamond or two off the cap to pay for the fake papers and still have a pen to scribble with', instead of considering the usual design issues like proportions, color palettes, textures, and so on

 

Now this, I would TOTALLY use if I could buy it/was given it! I would like it even more if the cap was partly clear too, but even like that I'd take it! Especially the purple, mmm, purple and gold Like a fairy queen's pen, hehe.
