The First Pen That I'll Never Give Up...

...is this Aurora Ipsilon. It's not because it's a super-duper high end pen, because it isn't (although it writes beautifully):

Rather, it's because it was a birthday gift from my daughter:

It's going to stay in the house, because I couldn't bear the thought of someone walking off with it at work...

What a lovely gift!! I haven't delved into Aurora pens, but it looks to be very handsome. You have a very thoughtful daughter. :D

Well, she did get a little help in terms of what models I liked (that were in her price range), but the engraving was her idea. And yes, she is a wonderful daughter.

I've got four in that class, although only one has an engraving. It's an excellent way to increase the value of a collection, since even a $20 pen can go overnight to the equivalent of an elephant's-weight of gold.

Oh, good heavens. He's got a blog now, too.

I did not know they made an "I Love My Daddy!" SE. I have a hunch that it wouldn't make it outside even without the inscription. Looks like you are doing things the right way, congratulations.

Back in the day of One Man, One Pen, engraving was a mark of class.

Prevented pen thievery too.

It is a nice, classic looking pen.

That's great! I would love for a family member to gift me a pen. Sentimental value pens are the best kind of pens. :D

I'm especially impressed that the engraving appears to be gold filled. I've never seen that on any other engraved pen. Was it factory engraved?

How lucky you are a beautiful gift but a more precious daughter.

I have a coffe mug bought for two dollars at a school stall by my daughter when in grade two (many many years ago) and I still treasure it, chips and all.

No, it was done by the retailer. I think she got it through Colorado Pens, but don't know for sure.
