Imperial III cap has a 1/4" cap band; Imperial IV has 3/8". Will Anirban4u take a ruler please..

The cap is a friction fit, and does not produce a "snap". However, the fitting is secure enough.

No doubt it's an Imperial IV cap on a III body.

 

No doubt it's an Imperial III with an Imperial IV cap.
