Hey, if some er...Adornments, get a junker pen back into service that otherwise wouldn't have, Good on ya!

If that happens, it can have purply sparkly bedazzler thingies on it for all I care.

(Like my wrench used to say when I wanted him to install some new LDR mod for me. "Not my bike." <I just do what you say.>)

Scrawler is that an opal? It looks great.

Bruce, I agree with you.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Very nice - and not junky.

I think it looks great. The gold nib especially. I would be it's good to write with.

Yes it is. I did write an article some years back about the construction of this pen, which is made of pieces that came from 6 friends around the world. The Wahl-Eversharp Skyliner nib was one of my experiments in Esterbrook Frankensurgery. I made this as a birthday gift for a young lady. She likes the soft feel, with a little natural flex, of the Eversharp nib.

<Missing clapping hands emoticon!>

I might have gone for Sharpbrook but Estersharp works even better.

<Yall might want to sit down for this one>

Yaknow, with these new "pens" coming out, and us Certainly not really wanting Them in Estieville, maybe we need a sub-sub forum

for the Zombiebrooks.

These results were grand indeed. I find that, as my pens deteriorate and break, I am not going to have them repaired, especially the Montblancs. So I am sometimes left with odd bits that can be put into an Esterbrook. The rationale for not fixing a pen goes like this: paid $100 on ebay for a MB 144, section breaks, MB wants about $100 to repair, pen is parts, but the beautiful nibs beg to be used somewhere. Same with a few Waterman, Sheaffer and Parker nibs. So, the Frankenpen is the recycliing of a nib meant to write in a beautiful pen made in such a way that it is adaptable, and a beautiful butterfly emerges from the coccoon. The pitchforks may be set aside.

i have 5 Esties and all they have is black something on top and was always intrigued what was it you called "Jewels".

Do you mean here that those black things on top are not what they originally had? It doesn't matter to me as they are all great writers, but for sake of knowledge….

Thanks!

Those black things are the jewels. It makes us feel special to call them jewels. Those who put real, actual jewels on their pens are heretics.

Good!

So I can bring out the pitchforks and light the torches again?

I think there might be a desire to have a thread of broken pen parts for those who may be looking for a special piece to repair something in their hands.

I have collected a small pile of parts that I will ship to gweimer1 as soon as he gets some moments of despair away from his current hobbies.

(by the way, if you can make it write and you like it, go for it!)

Estieville commercial for the new Zombiebrook fountain pen.

Scene; 3 ladies in a circle around the open glorious Zombiebrook Esterbox with a new Zombiebrook pen inside it.

Lady on the left; "It certainly is a big box."

Lady in the center; "A very big box."

Lady on the left; "A big, fluffy box."

Lady in the center; "A very big fluffy. Box."

Clara Peller leans over the Esterbox and stares down inside it; "Where's the beef?!" "I don't think there's anybody back there!"

Thanks for the assist AL.

I can honestly say that I have never used meat glue in the assembly of any Zombie or Frankenbrook.
