First I would like to thank Hari for sharing details about his bespoke Sandalwood Fosfor. His post was the push I need to go ahead and take the plunge. I have been an avid follower of Manoj's work from the beginning and now this pen is a thumping confirmation for me that Fosfor pens have arrived!

I received it today and here are a few pictures made in receding light; cannot wait to ink it up....

Your pen looks fabulous. thread work on the cap, tell us more and that looks like a vintage flex nib setup.

Thank you.

I first wrote to Manoj on Sept 1 detailing the concept with a sketch and received the pen on 9th Oct, in fact account 10 to 15 day for shipping the nib and feed from US to India - that's a quick turn around time for a bespoke pen.

This pictures is a highlight showing how well Manoj executed the idea of incorporating a roll stop using the twine - brilliant. The twine was coated with fabric glue to provide strength.

The nib-feed is from a donor black and pearl Sheaffer Balance whose cap had shrunk beyond repair. Don't discount it as a nail, Hari's keen eye noted the tines and the wonderful flex, will post sample later. Manoj even tweaked the flow by installing a section plug to throttle flow to the nib - all this without asking for it.

The entire experience from concept to final form was wonderful - I highly recommend it.

The 3D model and the final pen look very different, esp in the cap length, but the end result is very nice. I am curious about the filling system now.

A very nice pen, and I think the final shape does the wood more justice. And that rollstopper touch is very creative! a unique addition to an already unique pen. I see you also got some of the shavings... how did that work out?

Correct - I think 3D model was a rough representation after which we exchanged a couple of revisions to sure up the final form. It has the good old eyedropper filling system.

The shavings were a pleasant surprise which made my household very happy given its various application in beauty and skincare.

Those photos are much better than mine.

Thread work is done using rod wrapping technique. You can hardly tell where it starts. The roll stop was my sons handy work. He likes making scoobies!
