Been writing my christmas cards today, gambled and took a run at it with Private Reserve Naples Blue hoping it wouldn't feather - not only did it not feather anywhere, it turns out the shading in this ink really comes out on kraft cardstock. Written with a Pilot Falcon SF.

WOW!!! Before I read your description I was wondering what magical blurple ink that was! Really beautiful, and your penmanship is gorgeous! I'm sure your recipients will be very delighted with those cards :)

Thanks to a generous benefactor, I am using Red Cashmere today. I bought a new TWSBI Diamond 580 to show it off. Great deep, rich red color. Amazing.

Pen chalet had J Herbin Stormy Grey and I do really like the ink. Pics should show sheen and direct photos. Sorry, the photo is just off my lap with a cell phone

NICE

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Just received my pre-ordered bottle of Stormy Gray this morning. Much has been said about this amazing ink, so I have nothing original to add. GREAT INK.

What is this paper? How does it do with flex nibs?

And I bet you're rooting around for a velvety green to pair with that ink right now, aren't you? :D

It's Canson Tracing paper -- it exaggerates the great properties of the inks-- even flex nibs. Naturally, since the paper is almost transparent, and very crinkly, it is not great as a normal paper. But it looks great to show off an ink!

And a velvety green? Not my favorite; I'm good with the rich red right now... ;)

Definitely getting some of that paper when I can. And aww, I was thinking of a holiday theme with the inks :) Still haven't decided on mine for postcards. I know I want Rouge Hematite as the red, but I'm thinking I might slip a dark teal into the pairing instead of an "actual green" if I can't find my Vert Empire.

Excellent idea. And instead of calling it dark teal, just call it "blue spruce"!

That pen ink combo is GREAT.

Now remember, don't throw away these sheets. If you don't want them, mail them to me so I can put them in fade tests. 2015 is coming up soon.

I'm going to stick them in a window. I'm not sure how a double-sided sheet will fade - I didn't think it through all the way. Maybe I'll mail them to you since I barely get sunlight this time of year.

What I'm using today:

Today's Inks by drv1913, on Flickr

These are pretty much the inks that I use daily. The only ones that really change for daily use are the Skrips as I use up my stash of old cartridges.

For anyone interested, I'm putting a version of this picture with the pens included in the equivalent thread in the First Stop forum.

This ink I'm using today - De Atramentis Mahatma Gandhi - is an ink I have fallen in love with. Probably I will use it everyday for the rest of my life. It is mercilessly cheerful.
