Could have been a sign Steve, this is the best I could get out of Blue Suede with a flex nib, the sheen is virtually impossible to see unless you hold the paper a millimetre from your face :S It is there, but the ink is too dark to really appreciate it and no amount of different angles made it particularly reflective.

Even if hard to make out, the ink looks great. It shades so well.

Thanks for the heads up -- I was considering getting one for a friend but I'm pretty sure the spotting would bother him :) I'll get him something else instead to build up his fledgling collection (only 2 thus far, but he loves them).

Pretty again and so do I :D I think I'll pull out the Rikyu-cha soon.

I didn't know the Heritage nib had flex, though.

TWSBI makes a demonstrator that has a black cap which would solve any visible spotting. The TWSBI Classic is another option - solid body/cap with an ink window.

Pen & Message Cigar, Maruzen Athena Eternal Blue, Tokiwa Matsu, Morita Shade Green, and I just pulled the trigger on BungBox 4B and Ruby. Yikes, seeing them listed out like that makes me feel a bit guilty :( Well at least I've have lots more new inks to share here! Haha.

You could try asking engeika, I am not sure if he still does that, though.

That's a haul, all right! But I think most of us here are intimately familiar with the feeling  I'll look forward to the Cigar and Athena Eternal Blue in particular.

And thanks for the tip. I might ask my vendor too sometime. :)

The black cap is perfect! Thanks for the suggestion :D

OK, I lied. There is some shading, particularly noticeable on crossed t's, but it looks much better in a picture than on paper.

I'm thinking this one with the silver sheen stuff will be dang cool.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

OK, I think this ink is way cooler now. I was cleaning out a pen with a bulb syringe when things got a bit out of control. Water sprayed everywhere. This is the result. Don't want to wait for the slow color change? Add water.

The "warm" colors (pinks, reds, oranges, golds, browns) are on display. These are colors loaded in a variety of pens. Sadly, the scan does not pick up the freakishly beautiful sheen on Turmaline, Clown Teardrop, Fuyu-gaki, Claret, and Burgundy Mist). Written on Canson Tracing paper...

Few new inks in rotation today

Diamine Sunset - bit darker than I expected and doesn't shade quite as dramatically as some oranges. Really like this as an autumnal colour because it's a little muted and darker

Diamine Macassar - bought specially to coordinate with my Lamy Al Star coffee. I love that this one almost looks black when you write with it and it dries a lighter brown. Is slightly on the wet side for my taste though.

Iroshizuku Tsutsuji - always knew I would love this ink, already on my need a full bottle list. I was a little dubious about the gold sheen but I really love it in comparison to other gold sheening pinks

Noodlers Saguaro Wine - this was my first non-black ink. It's such a well behaved ink so it set my standards pretty high. I like it in combination with my white Pelikan M205, it feels like a nice clean combination.

Pelikan M205 F Rohrer & Klingner Verdigris - Pilot VP F Iroshizuku Kon-peki - Pilot Falcon SF Iroshizuku Tsutsuji

Lamy Safari EF Noodlers Black - Lamy Al Star 1.1 Private Reserve Rose Rage - Lamy Safari F Diamine Flamingo Pink - Lamy Al Star F Waterman Inspired Blue

Waterman Inspired Blue. More on my hands than on the paper.

That some impressive ink staining Steve, did you just go ahead and colour in your hand with the pen?!

Just about. I practically finger painted a letter, too. I'm picking up a new desk today and my pen ran dry writing a letter. I was trying to balance a pen, C/C, and sample vial standing up. Then I realized I didn't have a paper towel handy. :headsmack:

*Whistle* Beautiful!

But I'm a little amazed at how many pens you seem to have inked for this too :D

Thanks! And it may seem excessive to have to so many pens inked, but it's my therapy! Obsessions can be therapeutic, can't they?! ;)

Been writing my christmas cards today, gambled and took a run at it with Private Reserve Naples Blue hoping it wouldn't feather - not only did it not feather anywhere, it turns out the shading in this ink really comes out on kraft cardstock. Written with a Pilot Falcon SF.
