Wow, I love your collection! Mine is a lot more modest, consisting of an Ogiva Vintage, an Extra Lucens, an old style Paragon and a Bibliotheque Nationale. However one of those is in rotation most of the time. They can be amazing pens.

They issued Sterling Silver Paragons just this year - 35 each in silver or vermeil finish. They look really nice, but are pricey. I'll probably eventually buy one (or maybe both) if I find any pre-owned, or if someone eventually offers a "too good to pass up" price like I found on the Titaniums I have.

I've got these and I can tell that they are worth every cent. Stunning in every way. Celluloids are also pricey, but these are precious metal.

What a beautiful collection. I too love the paragon. I have 1 blue older style paragon in dark blue. That seems heavily represented in your collection. To me that is a nice classic shape. I have ordered and am awaiting the heavier looking paragon on black with the ruthenium hardware. Can't wait for its arrival

How stunning! Enjoy them and thank you for posting these photos. Some of us will only have vicarious collections of Italian pens in this

lifetime.

Beautiful!! I just ordered my first one last night (an Extra Lucens from Bryant) and must now wait until Monday to have it in my hands. While I do not anticipate such a collection others are certainly calling my name:). Since this one is a 35th anniversary gift from my wife, I will only need another 1750 years to get a collection like yours

Thank you for sharing the photos of your collection. Good luck in hunting those still waiting to join your collection.

You can never have too many if you passionately enjoy them.

Wonderful collection :) thanks for pics.

Do Omas make a sterling silver Paragon?

There is already a response with photos of the latest LEs in silver and vermeil. Very nice, and if you are concerned about price, look beyond the MRSP and talk to Bryant (Chatterley Pens). However even before this lot OMAS had some sterling LEs, so you may be able to find a used one at a gentler price compared to a new one.

Firstly, you can never have enough - which is lucky because I certainly have more than 50 (but I refuse to count on the grounds that I may get embarrassed).

Secondly, you really do need some 360s. Like an earlier writer here, the Omas 360 black magnum was my first Omas and it has been a joyful ride from then on and including my latest 360 the Arco.

Next, as said by another writer, you need a Green Arco

Fourth, you need one of the new Alba's (Green, purple or Orange) - just beautiful pens

Fifth, I've never seen the rose titanium before - lovely, congratulations

Sixth, you may enjoy looking into some of the vintages which have superb celluloid (find a black/grey Arco) and fabulous nibs (look for a 361 double sided nib, or a vintage Lucens)

Thankyou so much for sharing your outstanding taste with us all.

How could you say no to this 360?

I can say Oh My G-d but that will not due your collection justice. I LOVE them. It is a stunning collection. I hope you lock your doors. :)

Yes. Very nice collection, but I've been down that road and it was insane. It only stopped after getting ANOTHER leaking, tarnishing celluloid model in Rome and I decided, that's it for me.

I've seen some beautiful 360's, but I just don't get along with them. I write with my index finger on top, so it hits right on one of the 360's edges and I find that not comfortable. Therefore, no 360's for me.

My fingering too.

But, there are threads here where owners (including me) have simply pulled the nib and re-inserted it with some counter-clockwise rotation (counter-clockwise as viewed with the nib pointed at you). I like about 20 degrees of rotation. Having done this, my 360 has the most comfortable hold I own.

The nib pulls straight out. Immersing the end in hot water (up to about the middle of the section) expands the section and facilitates release (and re-insertion). Boiling water did not harm my 360 Mezzo.

My 360 Mezzo F is the sweetest writing and holding pen I own. But, as I've posted elsewhere, it's been drying up in less than a day. I'm working on that.

Beautiful, just beautiful collection! I hope you write with (most of) them -- often?

My Omas were mostly not getting enough use, so I traded some in for a Burkina Paragon with extra-flessibile nib -- I love that colouring: makes me think...Sahara countries. I kept my T2 Titanium with same-material nib (nice and springy) and the pen which I shall never relinquish: my 1930's Lucens.

I could not open the three supplementary photos of the silver jobs; but never mind. I admire your collection, Whichwatch. Like someone else, who wrote -- I am "Arco green with envy"! :)

Oh well. In case of failure you can always wring the paper to have a nice -albeit somewhat stale- cup of coffee back.

@lamarax That's what I used! (In reply to black coffee).. But the milk might not be good at all for paper.

Cappuccino should work. Frothy milk also helps to lubricate the nib. But it has to be made by a barista.

    • FineFinerFinest 24 Oct 8:52
No replies required to my complaints about the Pelikan. A friend came to the rescue with some very magnification equipment - with the images thrown to a latge high res screen. Technology is a wonderful thing. Thanks to Mercian for the reply. I had been using the same paper & ink for sometime when the "singing" started. I have a theory but no proof that nibs get damaged when capping the pen. 👍
    • Mercian 22 Oct 22:28
@FineFinerFinest: sometimes nib-'singing' can be lessened - or even cured - by changing the ink that one is putting through the pen, or the paper that one is using. N.b. *sometimes*. Good luck

I'm not expecting any replies to my question about the singing Pelikan nib. It seems, from reading the background, that I am not alone. It's a nice pen. It's such a pity Pelikan can't make decent nibs. I have occasionally met users who tell me how wonderful their Pelikan nib is. I've spent enough money to know that not everyone has this experience. I've worked on nibs occasionally over forty years with great success. This one has me beaten. I won't be buying any more Pelikan pens. 👎
    • FineFinerFinest 21 Oct 4:27
I've had a Pelikan M805 for a couple of years now and cannot get the nib to write without singing. I've worked on dozens of nibs with great success. Ny suggestion about what's going wrong? 😑

Hello all - New here. My Art studies have spilled me into the ft pen world where I am happily submerged and floating! I'm looking to repair some cheap pens that are starving for ink yet filled, and eventually get new nibs; and development of repair skills (an even longer learning curve than my art studies - lol). I have several Parker Roller Ball & Fiber Tip refills in the original packaging. Where and how do I sell them? The couple that I've opened the ink still flowed when put to paper. Also if a pen would take the foller ball refill then it should take the fiber tip as well? Anyway it's been awhile and I'm want to take my message collection beyond the few pieces that I have... Meaning I don't have a Parker these refills will fit in 🙄
