Hmmm...maybe Amberleadavis would have enough room for all her ink in there. :P

I have seen that video before, but it never ceases to amaze. Wonderful craftsmanship and lots of ingenuity as well; I can't imagine how long it must have taken to design and make the desk, and oh what fun it must have been for the first owner, who must have commissioned it specially, when they had their first chance to explore it and put it through its paces. Hours of entertainment! (And how about those "Now, exactly where did I put that pen....bottle of ink...important document....???" moments. lol Now THAT might lead to some frustration, but I sure would like a chance to experience it!)

Oh yes, I specifically remember the drawers that swing out on a pivot on their own. It's too overwrought in style for me (I like Arts and Crafts and Shaker style furniture -- if I ever win the lottery I want an honest to G*d Stickley Morris chair), but if you did a simplified style one that still had the neat mechanisms I would definitely be going "WAAAANT!!! MUST HAAAAVE!!!" I would even (maybe) stop buying pens and inks to save up for something like that desk.

Don't remember if I showed that link to my husband before or not. Now I definitely have....

lol - yeah, this desk is way over the top for me as well; Arts & Crafts and Mission style furniture/design is much more appealing to me. Just the same, I wouldn't turn down this desk if someone offered it to me as a gift! :P

I would love to have this desk, or something very similar in design. All the bells and whistles included. The problem would be matching the rest of the house to it afterwards, lol.

That's a pretty cool desk! Not my style at all, but cool nonetheless. It seems like it'd be very fitting for a National Treasure movie (think the Queen's desk) with hidden compartments. Don't want to think about how much something like that would cost, though.

Very cool -- thanks for sharing!

If I ever get the "dream desk" I've had in mind for years made, it's definitely going to include some of those features. ;)
