I Committed Fp Murder

Update:

Coles of London responded and stated (in writing) that the $35 repair fee included the replacement barrel and any other parts so I'm taking them up on it. They said that Visconti will also polish the pen and check the nib tuning. The only caveat it that my pen will be on 8-12 weeks of medical leave...in Italy. Too bad I can't ship myself with the pen.

Penslaughter charges are dismissed? :)

I managed a decapitation of a Sheaffer plunger fill that I just got. I could have sworn that the section was press fit, and not screwed on.

Anyone need a Feather Touch 5 nib?

Would that fit an oversized Balance? in that case, yes (don't ask...)

UPDATE:

My Michelangelo is back home and it's looks and works great!

I just want to say that Cole's of London and Visconti both did a great job!

Not only was the pen repaired but it was also polished to a brilliant shine and the nib was tweaked to be more true to medium and even smoother than it was before the "incident"!

I was told, and expected, the process to take eight to twelve weeks. The pen was back in my hands in about six weeks so they exceeded my expectations in that respect as well.

Considering how I thought this pen was a goner, it's like having an early Christmas present!

With that, I think your charges can be reduce to Attempted Pen-Slaughter with Time already served!

Good to hear this. I think that this further evidence shows that:

1. The pen was not dead, only injured.

2. You took proper action to restore the pen back to working condition.

3. Your actions have actually improved the pen, compensating for the injuries.

Based on this, recommend all charges be dismissed.

(Seriously, I am glad that this turned out well!)

Congratulations on the excellent outcome! You are very lucky.

I too must confess to attempted pen-icide: I deliberately fed BSB to my charcoal Lamy Safari, expecting it to croak. But it didn't.

Now I have a charcoal Lamy Safari with a stained section... With an interesting story to tell! ;)
