Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I have trying this ink foe over a week and i have yet to see a hint of blue -- it is a nice enough green but.....

Does it require strong UV ?

Mine changed in minutes under florescent lights.

Sinistral1's looked green for the longest but after it arrived here, it matched Eau de Nil.

So, to answer your question, I don't know why your ink isn't changing.

I am willing to bet is something to do with the paper. Try on different papers, good quality, bad quality, etc...

I've noticed ink form the same pen showing a different hue because of paper.

Good point, Cyber6. I've found that some of the UV inks are not very UV on some papers.

Well.. I did a couple of quick tests... One with Sugarcane Bagasse paper (cheap 20lb) and the other with top of the line HP paper (24lb)

They both change to blue, but on Sugarcane is much more slower. I will try with other papers (I have tomoe river and nice italian fabriano paper, I even have some onion skin).. I will post some pics tomorrow.

As promised..

I have:

1. Fabriano

2. Tomoe River

3. Sugarcane Bagasse (Staples)

4. HP High Quality (24lb)

5. SouthWorth Resume Bond - 25% Cotton

6. Vintage Onion Skin Paper (cockle finish)

7. SouthWorth Parchment Paper (Grey)

8. Tracing Paper (from Dollar store)

You can see on the pics how the color is changing a different speeds depending on paper. They will all change to blue eventually, some will retain a green tinge.

fpn_1415482945__comp_noodlers_general00.

I waited one hour, most papers were blue in a few second(<1min).. some took a little longer (approx 10min). I swabbed them a second time and scanned them as soon as the ink dried.. (10-15seconds)

fpn_1415483463__comp_noodlers_general02.

fpn_1415483507__comp_noodlers_general03.

At this moment, I realize that the scanner is failing to capture the green hue in the ink. I can see it with my eyes... so I took a picture so you all can see...

This was taken AFTER scanning.... still green.

fpn_1415483600__comp_noodlers_general03a

Same with the last test sheet, I scanned it first... then took a picture. The picture is more representative of what I see...

fpn_1415483679__comp_noodlers_general04.

You can still see green...

It is a lovely color, the color change and resulting color will hugely depend on paper quality.

Interesting! The most expensive paper there is the cotton right? Very interesting.

Thank you for the samples, Claudia. I'm on the hunt for the paper Attila is using to get sheen - Canson Satin tracing paper 90g. I'm expecting small, beautiful inky results!

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.
