Pink & Purple Ink Comparisons

Tessy Moon

Recommended Posts

Here are a couple scans of some pink and purple ink comparisons.

All these were written with a glass dip pen on a Rhodia dot pad.

I did my best to represent the colors of the inks but as always please remember that what I see on my screen is probably a little different than what you see.

I hope that this will at least give an idea of where each of these inks stand next to similar ones I have listed here.

I will list the inks in the text also so it will be searchable. Enjoy and I hope these are helpful! :)

Dear Tessy, thank you for your efforts. I have a few pinks and purples, but not as extensive collection like this, but based on this comparisons, definitely will have a few more.

Pinks and purples are my favorites! It is always fun to try new samples. Even if I know I won't by a full bottle it is neat to test them out. I hope you have lots of inky fun! :)

Great JOB!!! My Nostalgic impressions purple is much brighter, but it is cloggy and hard to clean. I think I need to try the Iro tsutsuji.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thank you Amber! :)

NI Purple is the most stubborn ink I have. It takes forever to clean using water & mild dish soap (or Goulet pen flush). I never leave it in a pen for more than a day or two because I think it stains more the longer you leave it in there. (at least it did stain an Ahab converter, which I still can't get completely clean; at least it's not a demonstrator!) But it is lovely with my glass dip pen and cleans much easier with that of course!

Tsutsuji is fun! I think you would like it. The best part is the gorgeous sheen! ;)

Very helpful review! Not my favorite colours but there are some good-looking reddish inks. Especially I like the Noodler's Ottoman Rose.

I like Ottoman Rose, because honestly, I don't like regular bright reds, just not my thing. But Ottoman Rose has a pink and even subtle purple-red undertone (although there is absolutely no purple coming through in the ink, it seems to have this subtlety underneath it). It's definitely still red, but it isn't your run of the mill basic red. It has more complexity and a gentle softness; it's not muted at all - what I mean by gentle is, it is not blaring at you like most reds. I think of it as a more elegant gentle feminine pinkish red; although any gender can use because it is subtle. It makes you stop and look again because of it's depth and complexity.

Great job. Absolutely stunning.

Black Swan is on my list, now. Thanks to you.

However, why no Diamine Imperial Purple?

Love,

Ra.

Thank you so much, it is a wonderful post!
